I know this is a very early preview, but gosh this is a disappointing mess. Not really much of an upside yet.
Although the app for the Griffin RadioSHARK works, there seems to be an issue with USB sound - the app gets nothing from the device. Probably because of this from the Release Notes?
USB
Known Issues
Hope they fix it soon, it's too quiet here!
- USB storage devices, including internal SD card readers, may become unavailable after system sleep and require either re-plug or restart to recover.
- USB input devices may become non-functional on some Macs after several days.
- USB 1.0, 1.1 and older 2.0 devices may not function.
Fantastical crashes on launch for me.
Mind you, so does FCPX and apparently I'm the only one that happens to.
I cannot open Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS 5. It is said that legacy Java SE 6 runtime is unavailable for this version of OS X. Darn!!
Same with Illustrator CS6 and so, I assume, Photoshop too.
POP3??? Why on earth?!!?
I am mainly concerned about Aperture. If Aperture is not supported or working in 10.11 I skip it.
Could someone please extensively test Aperture? I guess a lot of users are interested....
Edit: iStat isn't working, it's Little Snitch that fixed...iStat Menu does not work at all.
Mactex doesnt work anymore.
Because of rootles i think. It is complaining about /usr/local and /usr/bin or very similair.
Any workarounds?
The latest overnight version works fine.
Really? Final Cut? See that alone makes me think that there is such a disconnect at Apple between the different teams. Wasn't 10.11 to be focused on stability, performance and bugs fixing? So far I'm seeing more bugs and incompatible apps then any DP1 in a long time. I'm sure things will improve greatly down the line, but I can't help but be disappointed so far.I really disagree with this. Just the speed alone is like night and day when compared with Yosemite. I'm loving it. I don't even care that i have to boot into Yosemite to run Final Cut (mine crashes)
They seem to be willing to force us into a very narrow space of only supporting very new stuff that tows the line. There is no reason not to support usb 2. In fact there is no reason for some usb 2 devices to update to usb 3? Anyway, this is the same thinking that went in to the new macbook with it's single new style connector. I guess we are expected to get on or get out. It's kind of sad really. This would seem to be a bit of a showstopper :/ Wonder how extensively they've updated USB support if it breaks all legacy / compatibility?
- USB 1.0, 1.1 and older 2.0 devices may not function.
My error...it was Little Snitch that got fixed, iStat isn't working...My is not working =/
Logic Pro 9 does NOT work. Launches, but crashes very soon afterwards.
Photoshop CS6 works fine. Illustrator, however, does not.
