Safari Issues

I'm running PB2, however I experienced the same problems in PB1. Safari is often very laggy and unresponsive for periods of time. Whilst typing this the loading colour wheel will appear and no text will show until it's gone. On several occasions I've had to force quit Safari and on other occasions it has crashed and then quit of it's own accord.

Secondly my Macbook has just generally slowed down a lot compared to when running Mavericks. I have to wait for it to load for long periods of time and it feels like it can't compute many tasks simeltaneously. For e.g. if I'm playing a song in iTunes and then open an application which is usually safari the song will stop playing until safari has opened and the home page has fully loaded.

The odd thing is that it will either run very smoothly and I'll encounter very very few minor issues to no problems or it will be mega mega slow, laggy and unresponsive. Anybody have any ideas to why it would be this temperamental? I have plenty of disk space and regularly declutter.

Edit: Another bug - Often in Safari I'll be scrolling down the page and it'll jump back to somewhere I've previously scrolled past.

I undocked the Safari Web Inspector and turned it into a separate window. For whatever reason I just can't find a way to put it back as an integrated part the main Safari window.

Safari: detachment and attachment of Web Inspector

… Safari Web Inspector … integrated …

With Safari 7.x in Mavericks, in the title bar of the detached inspector there are buttons to attach it below, or to one side, but (unless I'm missing something) no corresponding menu commands.

If the Web Inspector window has no title bar in Yosemite, then seek the buttons elsewhere.

For accessibility, consider making an enhancement request to have menu commands.

Spotlight search bug

There's a bug that has never been fixed since the first Yosemite beta in spotlight search. Might someone check if they finally fixed it in DP7 please?

Open spotlight and begin typing a term which contains 'special' characters (I personally tried with Icelandic words like Bárðarbunga). Try to open the 'Read full article' link in the suggested wikipedia section. Does it work?

Thanks

Just installed PB2 on a 64GB USB3 drive. Installed and ran perfectly, it is a bit slower not running from a SSD, but gives me a chance to try it without endangering my Mavericks install.

Although I only use my MBA 11" 4GB for everyday use, I find it hard to tell the difference between which OS version I am running apart from the icon differences.

Works for me too. Only question I have... my entire system is set to English. Google searches within Safari are English and use google.com rather than google.de... everything else... English...

Spotlight however... shows the German Wikipedia page.
1. Why?
2. How can I change that?

my Wifi is working, but all greyed out. If I try to click on it, I get the pinwheel. "SystemUIServer" isn't responding in the Activity monitor when I do. Tried resetting the UIServer plist file along with my preferences Plist, and a PRAM reset as well.

Any ideas?

It's interesting. I tried with the Italian localisation in Public Beta 2 and maybe that's where the bug is - or they simply fixed it. Tonight I'll test with English localisation.

I’m running DP7 with the dark theme. I notice that from time to time the notification icon in the menu bar disappears. Clicking on the space where it is opens the Notification Center and restores the icon to visible - for a while.

Also, Safari is completely hosed on my rMBP. The only icon in Applications folder is the old style icon for Safari 7.0.6. It launches sometimes, and not others. When it does launch, it’s incredibly unstable and either crashes or is completely unresponsive.

Searching Spotlight also only reports Safari 7.0.6, but when I right click on some files, I see an Open With for Safari 8 and Safari 7. Very strange.

Hey guys I'm a newbie here. I have made a separate thread about this but I noticed this thread that discusses bugs so I decided to post here as well. I have the Public Beta 2 for Yosemite on my Late 2011 MBP. There is this bug that is really annoying and no one else seemed to have mentioned in in previous threads.

Every time I boot my Macbook Pro, the login screen appears with a white background. Everyone else seems to have their actual wallpaper blurred in the log in screen which is how it's suppose to be. Mine is just a white screen with the log in info. So after it logs in and loads 100% then thats when my wallpaper comes in again. The picture attached shows what it looks like all the way until it loads 100%.

Is there any way to like reset the log in settings files or something? It's not something major but just very annoying. I already submitted a report to Apple.

iTunes Play buttons

Sorry if it was mentioned but am I the only one with those un-centered Play buttons in iTunes Store?
