My Acer H203H monitor has begun flickering after the latest beta update. Not sure if it's the monitor or a bug. Anyone experience something similar. I'm on a 2011 mac mini.
Yes, I'm having issues with my 2011 Mac mini (no problems with either PB3 or the mini's Windows 8.1 partition). It's connected to a Panasonic P55VT60 plasma via an Onkyo TX-NR636 receiver using HDMI.
The picture completely drops out every 2-3 seconds basically rendering the computer unusable when directly hooked up (screen sharing works okay).
Console logs report issues with the AmbientDisplayAgent (AMBD), so I've filed a bug report with Apple and will try a new install tonight after the graphics card switching fix suggested above (if indeed it exists for minis rather than MacBooks)...
EDIT - Tried reinstalling Yosemite, but no dice.
Other owners running HDMI 2.0 receivers are also reporting similar problems, so it seems to be an issue not specific to Yosemite:
http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-re...-avr-x1100-mac-mini-hdmi-handshake-issue.html. I had been running a HDMI 1.3 receiver with PB3 but upgraded it a week ago.
Looks like I'll be running Windows for a few weeks until an updated driver arrives.
FURTHER EDIT - After using Windows for the evening, I booted back into my Mac mini, and the HDMI handshake issue had gone. Why? Who knows... It's all part of the fun of beta testing...
FURTHER FURTHER EDIT - It's back again. Grrrr...
(Also getting the numbering issue described on the next page - my MBP is now reporting as MacBook Pro (3)).
They had better not be considering releasing this software in mid-October because it's still very buggy...
FURTHER FURTHER FURTHER EDIT - a cable swap and/or Beta 5 have solved the issue...
FURTHER FURTHER FURTHER FURTHER EDIT - or not. I'm at my wit's end now. It is fine with a direct connection between the plasma, and every other device is fine too. Just not the Mac mini in OSX hooked up via the Onkyo receiver. Oh well, Windows it is for the next few weeks because, well, it just works...
