Got the download pushed to me and it is installing now on my stock, non-rooted, non-anything'ed special Gen-1 Nexus 7.

Didn't do anything like clearing cache or anything so it is happening.

I am in North Carolina.

I don't notice anything different on my Nexus 7. Battery life is the same (not great), and if anything I'd say I'm noticing even more lag. I've done everything to cut back on the lag on this thing and it keeps getting worse. I hope the next gen eliminates that because in general I really like the N7.

One thing I did notice... the update set my screen dim time to 15 seconds for some reason. At first I thought there was something wrong haha. I always keep mine set to 2 minutes, but it reset when I did the update.

I dunno, somewhere in West Texas
Whenever I read something on XDA is goes like this:

"first your need to do this, and if you don't know how google it.

Then you do this, and if you don't know how google it."

That same step gets repeated over and over.

Or ...........

"If you don't know what adb is then maybe you're in the wrong place."

I've been a member over at xda for years and they're definitely not the warmest of people.

I know what adb is they just have awful instructions. Even as someone who is tech savvy they need to make instructions more clear.

Nothing here yet either for my Nexus 4. I am anxiously waiting to see if the wifi sleep issue is resolved as I have heard rumors that 4.3 fixes it.

So the one issue I had with 4.2.2 seems to be resolved. I finally got the 4.3 OTA update this evening and I immediately installed it. I have been streaming TuneIn radio for about 10 minutes so far with the screen off and it has continued to stream. It would usually cut off the audio a minute or two after the screen went off. So for me, for the resolution of this issue alone, 4.3 is a winner. If battery life improves, that is just icing on the cake.

Battery is indeed improved. I'm impressed. Just goes to show what a little software optimization can do.

No battery improvement at all, I actually think it's worse..

I am in the same boat. I think it actually is worse if that is even possible. I am a very light user. Yesterday, I had 38 mins screen time and 16 hours on battery and hit 15%.

Try and find services that might be running in the background that you might not need. Check for and disable notification services that are running in the background that you might not need. If you don't need Google Services Framework running in the background, disable it. That's a battery killer.

I downloaded on Amazon "Battery Pro" and it has a nice battery calibration tool. Check the Google Play store. They have a free and paid version both do the same minus the ads. I find the battery to be about the same, no better, no worse with 4.3

Battery life for me has taken a huge nose dive

I used to get around 7 to 8 hours of on screen time with the previous version, now I am lucky to get 3

I leave everything on: bluetooth, wifi, location services, etc. I did that on 4.2.2 also and use to get about 2.5 hours screen time with 18 hours battery before I hit 15%. Usually at noon I am around 70% left. On 4.3 with my same usage patters I am down to 60% at noon.

I like leaving everything on and it usually is not an issue, but since the update I may struggle to get through the entire day.

After a full day with 4.3 it seems battery life is the same or slightly better to me. Obviously I need more time to validate this.

I'd give it a few cycles - my battery life always took a nose dive when I upgraded Android but got better with time.

true. I was just shocked at how little I used it yesterday and how fast it drained.
