Parallels was unable to provide help on this, but I needed a workaround and here it is. I have only been able to reproduce this bug with bridged networking.

Parallels is reading the "Default" and "Ethernet" adapters incorrectly. I am close to figuring out the pattern, but even creating an "Ethernet 2" does not help. The workaround is to use the wi-fi adapter if "Ethernet" is your primary or "Ethernet" if wi-fi is your primary.

Steps to fix:

Assume: Connection to the Mac is wired and "Ethernet" is the Mac's primary network.
Enable Wi-Fi and allow it to connect to your network. You will have 2 IP addresses, but as long as Wi-Fi is later than "Ethernet" in the "Set Service Order", you are all good.
For the network of the guest machine, choose "Wi-Fi". There is another tiny bug where you may have to select it twice if the machine is active. Make sure it was selected.

Bridged networking will now work, albeit over wi-fi. I intend to experiment with a second physical network adaptor, but for right now I just needed my virtual machines up and running.
This worked for me. I registered with this forum to specifically thank you for this workaround. I've been pulling my hair out for days.

2 issues with the Automator process described above in #26 now. 1. No "Save As" under Automator file menu. 2. Receive a "Code Signing" error when doing a regular Save or Duplcate.

  1. Try "Convert to" application
  2. I have code signing identity, but don't think you need one to use automator

The "Device order" suggestion indeed helped. When Parallels was launched, it was enabling Ethernet on my mac and pushing it to the top of the "Device order" list, disabling the mac connection.

I had the same issue when using a "Shared Network". I switched to "Bridged Network" and that seemed to resolve it. I had a feeling upgrading to Big Sur would cause some issues; I'm glad I did it on my "spare" macbook first.

I made a .app to execute the code in terminal to make this faster as well. It has an option to close the application as well as start it with the code to make it connect to the internet. Hope this helps somebody else as it's helped me

Thank you for this, it works!
However, while fixing the Network issues, it breaks Bluetooth connectivity on Windows.
i.e. in the VM Configure -> Hardware -> USB & Bluetooth page "Share Bluetooth devices with Windows" becomes disabled and when selected it prompts for macOS privacy restrictions which are actually already active.

Bluetooth sharing works normally when running the VM without the network fix (I am testing this with an Xbox One controller).

Any ideas?

Seems to be a known issue
This workaround works for me:

1) Quit Parallels (shutdown any running VM)
2) Open terminal and type this command
sudo -b /Applications/Parallels\ Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_client_app
Thanks, this is worked for me.
