Maybe it's a bug... Do you get any errors? Do you see the device in My Computer (aka This PC on Windows 10)?I have tried, it doesn't work either
I even tried VM but no luck
Also, do you get this pop-up when connecting the device to Parallels?

Which Parallels version are you using? Latest one should be 16.1.1 (49141). And you need to have the official version from Parallels website.maybe, but it's still the even after update of the big sur
No I haven't seen anything like that

Maybe try a clean installation of Parallels software? You don't need to reinstall Windows. Just Parallels.
Make sure your machine is NOT located under the default location (users/YOUR USER/Parallels). Move it to a different partition and then load it after you reinstall Parallels. And again, make sure you get the official version from Parallels website.
Yeah... but I'm assuming you didn't reinstall Parallels, right? Just updated the OS from Catalina to Big Sur? If so, that's why I would recommend a clean reinstall of the Parallels software. You can do a clean uninstall using softwares like App Cleaner. There are some other alternatives, if you prefer those. But the idea is to make sure you don't have any preferences or other stuff laying around after you removed Parallels. That pop-up I mentioned above is important. If you don't get that, the device won't be allowed to connect to the virtual machine.i have been using the official version
And I moved the the machine file to my external ssd
I need to mention that this happened right after updating from catalina to big sur
I try all methods you said (reinstall official version in Big Sur).. SAME STORY! The machine recognized just the external hard disks, sd card but NOT my iPhone, only my iPhone is not recognized WHY?????? it doesn't even show the pop up you have mentioned before NOTHING!Yeah... but I'm assuming you didn't reinstall Parallels, right? I don't understand why uninstalling a software on Mac was always advertised as being so simple (just drag and drop the app to Trash). Well, no. Cause if you do so, you still haven't removed all the other crap that the software left behind.
But that's another topic and it's unrelated.
No idea... I would have guessed driver, but...if your device is not connected to the virtual machine and you don't get that pop-up, I don't see how this could be a driver issue. Is it properly displayed on the host machine (Mac)? Maybe the cable is not making a good connection? I don't know. Seems to be working fine for me.I try all methods you said (reinstall official version in Big Sur).. SAME STORY! yes on Mac iPhone with its original cable works perfectly and it is recognized by Mac (as always)... I don't know that's so strange..... I need to connect my iPhone to windows for work and I can't.. on the virtual machine I had installed windows 7 (cuz I need this version)! No idea... You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver on the virtual machine. But...as I said, if it doesn't connect to the guest machine, I don't see how it could load the driver. But maybe I'm wrong. So...you could try that, too. Do you have Parallels set to ask you every time a new device is connected? If not, you could try that too. Also, if you have the device added below, maybe try removing them so it can ask you what to do with it...? Just an idea, of course.yes on Mac iPhone with its original cable works perfectly and it is recognized by Mac (as always)... I don't know that's so strange..... It doesn't work ...Have you tried the official version from Parallels website?
Yes, it's similar as I mentioned before.Any solution to the USB devices not being recognized?
I already have that config and does not work for me 🤷🏻♂️Yes, it's similar as I mentioned before.
Modify the file /Library/Preferences/Parallels/dispatcher.desktop.xml
Find out the following part:
<UsbVirtualDisks dyn_lists="">
<FireWire>1</FireWire>
<Usb>0</Usb>
<Thunderbolt>1</Thunderbolt> <Removable>1</Removable>
</UsbVirtualDisks>
Change Usb as
<Usb>1</Usb>
Restart parallel desktop as normal user mode, then you can see the Usb device list for guest OS, just share it to guest OS
For my experience, the USB won't appear directly when you plug in even you have selected guest OS as target.I already have that config and does not work for me 🤷🏻♂️
No luck here, same version. Also downgraded to 16.0.1 with the previous installer and same thing. For my experience, the USB won't appear directly when you plug in even you have selected guest OS as target.
You can check the tool bar on the right-top side. You may see the Usb device icon, select your device by name to share it to guest. BTW, my parallel version is 16.1.1.
Have a good luck.
Sadly it does not work, when I select an usb device in the list I can't access it. It is not important to me to access storage devices but yes to my keyboard special functions (not an Apple kb) and a few extra devices as a special sound device.I have tried another trick for usb stick/disk. Go to guest OS settings in parallel desktop.
Options -> Sharing -> Map Mac volumes to Windows. Take the attached screenshot as reference.
Then you can see it as web shared folder in your guest OS.
Hi buddy, seems like your fix does the trick to storage devices but not to USB devices. Do you know if there is some kind of pattern in term of the usb relationship?Yes, it's similar as I mentioned before.

I found a luck from Internet that makes you don't need to run sudo every time.
just edit the preferences of parallel desktop
If you are familiar with terminal, just use sudo to edit it.
e.g. sudo vi /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
Find out the line
-1
Change it to zero
0
If you use GUI only, just pull out the file, edit then place it back to /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
I'm wondering this too. These issues with Parallels make me reluctant to take the plunge into Big Sur.Does anyone know if 16.1.2 update fixes any of these problems?
