If Apple decide to put smaller batterys to it's devices someday, they do it regardless what people tell them. Just like with removing of The floppy, SCSI, optical drives, VGA, heaphone jack etc.

And that's not what I said.

If they put a battery in it that lasts only 5 hrs, I'll buy something else. I think a lot of people would say the same.

Yes, but my point was not to say how much battery life iPad should or should not have. My point is that the headache I have (and I believe many other user also) with iPad and iPhone being wired devices is that it cannot be used how it should. Even at home I have to optimise my battery life by putting off allmost all notifications, automatic app updates, location services, iCloud and mail syncs, screen brightness etc. to get me a through the whole day without having to plug in before night. This is the same with my iPad and iPhone.

And I find myself constantly watching and monitoring my battery life trough the day and looking the percentages and health off it etc. That is just plain stupid. With wireless charge all this nonsense could be the thing of the past. We should not have to concentrate on a battery life of our devices like we do now.

Yes in an ideal situation all mobile product should charge wherever, like solar charging etc. our homes are already using solar charging

It's happening!!

So should one keep waiting on a 9.7" Pro + Pencil or is it going to be awhile? (Not that anyone really knows anything for sure.)

Ugh don't know what to do now. Don't want the new cheapie but not sure I can wait until the update the Pros :(

Now I'm considering to reluctantly buy the aging 12.9 pro. I've needed a new iPad for months but Apple just sucked the life right out of me.
Order the new iPad for $330 and then get the Pro when it comes out. Also why do you need a new iPad, unless you have a iPad 2 or 3 really your fine atleast until fall.

I had an air 2 but our Dalmatian destroyed it. I've been using my daughter's mini 2 since November, pink case and all.

I want Apple Pencil functionality so I think I'll buy a refurb Ipad Pro 9.7 now. Like right now.

Apple's refurb store has been cleaned out of all non-32GB 9.7" models. Patiently waiting indeed.

Edit: Though if you're in the US, Best Buy is currently running a sale that puts new models in line with Apple's refurb prices.

Damn, was hoping to hear some news on iPad Pro 2 12.9 or 10.5...Now I don't know what todo. Keep waiting or just get 12.9 pro V1
Wait the Pro 12.9 and even 9.7 our dates now when they announce the 2nd version it'll blow them out of he water and you'll regret not waiting. Think of it this way, iPad Airvs iPad Air 2. That's is going to be the type of difference the 2nd Pro will bring better display and performance being the major improvements.
