What I get. Seems NOT ok.
[doublepost=1550048990][/doublepost]Nothing works. Again, I don't code.
Just follow:
download this file, change to the downloaded directory in terminal and run:

sudo ./AHT-my-disk.sh
Nobody is asking you to code. Just follow instructions .

Downloaded this file: AHT-my-disk.sh
To run this X-Code ask for adittional components to install before it can run the script.
??

Also "change to the downloaded directory in terminal", how do I do that?

This is not the place to discuss AHT install, people. Open a thread or discuss via PM.

Please be on topic, I shouldn't have to keep reminding this anymore…

Should it be "--folder" instead of "-- folder" ?

tsialex, I'm sorry, got carried away. I'll wait for my new carriercard to arrive and check if the startup problem persists.

Changed to new PCI card (DT-120). No success: after three hours running, sudden reboot.
Can't get AHT to work. Desperation setting in.

What other PCIe cards do you have in your system?
What brand/model is your GPU and how is it being powered?
What monitor and resolution?
What USB devices are connected?
How much RAM in the system? Have you tried reducing to only 1 or 2 sticks?
Are you running any specific tasks that could trigger this restart? Rendering video?

Im beginning to suspect the pci-slot. Had never problems, removed a USB-3 card to place the new Kyro-NVMe card, had the strange reboots on idle or wathever application, replaced the carriercard with a D-120. Or could it be the SSD itself?

cMP 5.1, system HS, 96GB ram, GT 640, GTX 970, USB scanner (not connected at this time, becose the prob!).

Two non-matching GPUs connected? How are they powered? Remove one GPU and see if it makes a difference.

Why would that make a difference now? I had these GPU installed since last september in order to upgrade to HS and 140 bootrom because of metal compatibility.

Really sounds like a power draw issue, especially given the 3-hour window of everything being fine. Realize it or not, your NVMe adapter pulls power from PCIe and likely more than the card that was there before (USB3 PCIe). Remove the GT 640 GPU to see if it makes a difference.

BTW, NVIDIA Web Drivers are only supposed to work correctly with matched GPUs according to NVIDIA support, in case you care to hear that...

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my Mac Pro (6,1) with an internal 2 tb ssd. So far I was going to buy the Samsung 970 EVO + Sintech adapter + heatsink. But just yesterday I found this upgrade from Samsung - a Samsung 970 EVO plus, that is supposedly coming 6.2.2019 (sorry I found this only on German Amazon - the upcoming date is in the column on the right).

Does anybody know if this is also ok with Mac Pro? And should I wait for this one?

Just for the sake of information:

I couldn't wait, so I made the upgrade with Samsung 970 EVO 2 tb without the plus. The plus-version was not available in Amazon and it still isn't. And somehow also Sintech adapters were out at the moment, so I bought Kalea-Informatique adapter with screwdrivers. Found out that the screwdrivers were too small - meant for MacBooks perhaps? I had some torxes of my own though. For the heatsink I chose Glotrends because it was small and can be put on without metal parts.

So everything went fine and is ok now. SSD-temperatures are ok too, but around 10 degrees celsius hotter - in light use (Safari) used to be with original SSUAX 256 Gb about 38-40 C and now it's about 48-52 C. Now I have solved this with iStat pro that has the possibility to make fan rules - I made 4 step-rules to keep the Pro cooler in rising ssd-temperatures.
And now I'm happy. Hope this helps someone looking for upgrading nMP (6,1).

I just cancelled my order for a Samsung M.2 970 Pro . .I came across the new 970 EVO Plus which Samsung says is up to 53% faster than the 970 EVO !

That's fast enough for my immediate needs.

https://www.samsung.com/us/computin...sd-970-evo-plus-nvme-m-2-500gb-mz-v7s500b-am/

One of these as my High Sierra boot drive with my 960 EVO & 970 EVO Plus raided together in an IOCrest would be my next logical ( and ultimately comparatively cheap ) next upgrade.

Has anyone tried the 970 EVO Plus ?

You'll hear an argument that the PRO models are still better for sustained. Have not personally used EVO PLUS in my own machines or benchmarked with MacPro5,1 but the EVO PLUS were impressive on PC workstations. If you're looking for 1TB+ you'll need to look at the older model. For 250GB/500GB/1TB needs I'd probably pick up EVO PLUS as well.

Would suggest looking into mixed RAID more closely if that is your end goal. "OFFICIALLY" the specs call for matching sticks.

i think you can't use the extra speed in a cMP because of PCIe 2.0
I'm buying an IOCrest PCIe x 16 adapter with a PCIe switch -goes in PCIe slot 1 or 2.

You can put two M.2 blades on the IOCrest.

. . . . . . then one gets the speed . .around 2,500 mb/s
