I got the 285 installed in my Mac, but in Resolve/Premiere the Mac doesnt recognize any Cuda card.

PCIe settings
Slot 3: set to 4 Lanes - ATE x1900 installed
Slot 1: set to 16 Lanes - GTX285

The system profiler shows the card with an installed driver (ROM-Version:netkas.org), but its not showing the VRAM.

Anybody got an idea, why the card isnt working correctly? Monitor output i only get through the ATI card. If i connect the DVI to the Nvidia, the screen turns black.
I hear that Resolve needs two nivdia cards, not ati card.
If use a non-apple card, please flashed cards first.

Try reading the thread again

I read the complete thread 3 times and some older posts are very interesting, but i dont know what to do exactly. I installed the Nvidia card in Slot 1 and installed the "Enabler_for_Nvidia_and_multiple_ATI_cards.pkg". I will buy another 8800GT and flash it with an EFI bios. I thought it might also work with the ATI x1900. Do i need to change something with the command shell?

Would you be so kind and write down what i am maybe doing wrong? In german we say, maybe i got tomatoes on my eyes :D

Mac: 2.1 Intel 8-Core
GFX: ATI X1900XT
GFX: PNY 285GTX 1GB Vram (2 powercable are installed)
OSX: 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

The Nvidia card is recognized by the system, but if i open the app "Open GL extesions Viewer 4.0" it only shows up the Ati card.

EDIT:
Now i read all the posts again and tried to follow every desciption. After all i know that only a 8800GT flashed for Mac will work though. But before i tried this:

1. sudo su ;inside the terminal and if not already in sudo root
2. chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ATY_Init.kext
3. chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ATY_Init.kext
4. touch /System/Library/Extensions

-> https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/8199351/

And now my 285GTX only shows up as "display" and not with the netkas signed thing. I reinstalled the enabler and now a "Unknown Nvidia card" is diplayed.

How do i get the 285gtX back? 8800GT is ordered.

Similar problem here.

MacPro 3.1
8800GT
GTX285

in Snow Leopard everything is working fantastic, but in Lion there is not a sign of GTX285 to work.

Any one to help us? Please :)

ATY_Init works just fine

I have it on 2 different Mac Pros and just about any Nvidia card works with it.

if it isn't working for you, problem is on your end

be sure you have Lion version

Try with JUST the GTX285 installed, and keep in mind that card won't light up until end of boot sequence.

Easy way to tell if boot is over is when volume keys work

If you want to solve issues, best if you have another Mac and set up Screen Sharing

ATY_Init works

Unfortunately not working for me :(

Tried in Lion 10.7.2 and now I've installed 10.7.0. Same thing just see Display. I need GTX as a second card just for GPU processing. 8800GT is in Slot 3, GTX285 is in slot 1.

ATY_init is from July 22nd. Hope that one is the right?

Thanks

Now with the GTX285 only via Screen Sharing I can see there is no driver for the card. and it gives me some generic resolution. About This Mac shows no graphics card inside and no display.

Anyone know how to get a GTX 295 Dual PCB working in 10.6.5+?

I have a 2006 Mac Pro with an 8800GT and a GTX 285 in it right now running fine with 10.6.8. When I tried putting the GTX 295 in it and update past 10.6.4 it no longer works. I have been reading all over the net but I am having a hard time finding a step by step instruction set. I'd love to be able to use the 295 in OS X even if it really only works like a GTX 260 and be able to use the 295 in Windows for when I am gaming.
