No. I've had the Xs Max three days and I'm already over the home button. Easiest relationship dump ever. And face ID rocks. I love how I can just look over my phone a bit with hands full/busy and it just pops open.

Not at all! I went from a 7 to a XS and it’s very intuitive. I passed on the X because I thought it would be horrible. I was soooo wrong! Swiping is natural and very easy!!! This XS is an awesome device, the screen is amazing.

Took to it immediately. The home button feels old fashioned now when I pick up an older iPhone.

Home button was good and an underscreen home button would be great. However Face ID
Is the way Apples going because of AR

Swiping takes more effort than pressing. Not a fan personally
When your hand is in this position it’s easier to swip than to press

Or may be it’s because of my hand.
(And double press the swip take more than one swip when you switch app)

How do you switch between apps, use reachability, unlock the screen without faceid, and restart the phone?

Moving from an iPhone 7 to a XS.

I was seriously working about not having a home button.

FaceID is awesome. I missed TouchID for like 30 seconds - tops. Total FaceID convert.

When driving it was nice to have because it was tactile (much like a radio knob) and I could just tap into my map software or whatever. Gesture control to unlock or navigate in this situation is unwieldy at best, not that I should be using it in the car mind you. :p

I came from a 7+ to an XS Max, was worried I would miss the home button. In 15 minutes I realized that Face ID is soooooooo much better. When notifications pop up just swipe and they bring you right to the app, no home button to press. The swipe gestures feel much more intuitive, it just works seamlessly.

I’m coming from 7P to a Max and I find myself tapping for a home button.
Face ID is great especially being able to read/preview notifications without touching the screen.
I stayed away from the X last year because of no Touch ID.

What exactly is Touch ID and does the X not have it?

Touch ID. The finger print scanner that was on the home button to unlock from iPhone 5S to iPhone 8.
The X has Face ID to unlock. Facial Recognition.

Agree. I returned mine. Thumb got sore. I ended up using the virtual home button, but that was dumb. I like the 8 plus better.

Extra bit of screen was nice, yeah, but not nice enough for the price.

Does the X not have Touch ID, and if so is faceID the only way to unlock it??

Switch between Apps: Slide your finger left or right at the bottom
I don't use reachability even with my last 8 Plus. I use 2 hands for what needs 2 hands
Without faceid: unlock by passcode
Restart the phone: power and vol- at the same time
