Well, I haven't done a very clean job, so maybe I have to clean up the mess a little bit first.

Plus there are some minor things that can be improved and I also have no idea how I can test it for macOS 10.13 compatibility in terms of UI colors.

Dear Vivo, i updated my version of Phonix and I just wanted to know, if there would be an update for Phonix with the possibility to enter full screen? And another question I already asked. If I open a music file through finder, the file will open in Phonix, but the player doesn't start to play that file. I have to push the play button and then It starts. Is there a possibility to change that in the preferences or add a function in a further update?

Hello Eimsbush,

- About the full screen, forgot all about it will have a look.
- In the Phonix Preferences there is an option Enqeue and play, or Clear And play, try it.

Hi vivo,

- ok, thats's great, thanks!
- I already tried to change the settings, but it's only working within Phonix. The changes will not have an effect, when I open files through the finder. Phonix just starts, or when already starts, just enqueues the files and that's it.

Hi,

Phonix v9b15 for macOS Mojave 10.14 is out, see for signed binary or source code --> https://phonix.nl.eu.org

- enable Full Screen via CMD + f , or via View Menu --> Enter Full Screen
- internal fixes to the audio engine and decoders
- reduce app size to 28.7 MB.

Why do you ask? Either use it or do not. It's free and only 6 years of work. I don't mind.

Can someone give me clue why this player better then others?
Its minimalistic without distracting items, using low resources while support current osx features like "dark mode"

Just does what a music player should, not more not less :)

Hey vivo,
I am using your player since November '18 as my main audio player with great pleasure!
But I am frequently I am experiencing crashes when I want to open audio files via Finder an try to play them (when I click play on the newly openend file Phonix shuts down....).
By the way, is there a solution to directly start playing files when I open them in Finder (double click the file => Phonix opens => I still have to click play to play the audio, but I would prefer the file to start playing automatically)
(I am running Phonix on newest Mojave version on a 2015 MacBook Pro, Preferences "Enable Autoplay" & "Enqueue & play" are activated (but just causes the last played track to be played... not the newly added one))

Thanks in advance and best regards
Chris

Helllo,

Phonix 2019 b25 is out at https://phonix.nl.eu.org

First of all if you experience any problems with Phonix it could be because of old preferences, so try to fix this open up a Terminal.app from /Applications/Utilities and enter following text + press enter , when Phonix is not open/running).

Code:
defaults delete com.vs.Phonix

This version is for 10.13/10.14

- current playing tab shows indicator to distinguish from other tabs
- engine improvements with samplerate switching
- current playing tab will play next current item and not from other (selected) tab
- all decoders updated to latest versions if possible

Enjoy!

@GLM666 : still have problems with this latest version?

Hello,

Phonix 2019 for 10.13 or 10.14 is now available at the MAS (App Store)

See: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1451765161

If you plan to use this version, please remove or archive all old Phonix applications from your disks as I've that if you download from the App Store, old versions might start due to being found on the system.

I'd really love to keep up with newer versions of this software, but all of the updates since about November insta-crash when I open the program. I'm on a fully updated 10.14.3, and I just had to install version 6b58 just to use the program again.
