Hi Vivo,

Thanks for new build, works way better however I've noticed that Autoplay is not work any more.
I plays for less than half second and it stops. Tested on old config.

Btw Is possible to build-in K-Meter into main window, let say next to playlist on the right, but still open and close it from icon like dir tree and album art?

Kind Regards
Thom

Hi Vivo,
What I meant was K-Meter build-in into main window, not separate. This might be tricky to implement. :)
Auto Play seem to be fixed indeed, testing it now.
One little thing to fix? When renaming playlist after window was resized causes "input window" appear in random place, perhaps where playlist was previously. Can it be over playlist (cover it), and disappear when enter pressed?

Just a remainder of my ideas, hope you like them and some day will be implemented.
- "set as playlist" starts playing the playlist (idea taken from foobar2000)
- when phonix main window opened and on the front, clicking on window icon (on system top bar) will hide it, same as close window with X.
- horizontal scrol in folder list when names are to long, and don't fit.

That's all from me today.

Many thanks for Phonix, life is better with it. :)

Hi Thom

You can set in the preferences if the statusbar icon shows Phonix window or playlist

Hi Thom
You can set in the preferences if the statusbar icon shows Phonix window or playlist

This is not i was thought about, but I'll back to this later.

Would be possible to release only bug fixed build so called stable? Asking as this build besides bugs reported below is the most stable/usable version.

Now bug report.
- Playback stops time to time on beginning of the songs. I usually select album folder "set as playlist" and then "add to playlist" next couple of them. Now this happening more often than before and today Phonix crashed. See stops.png & crash log.
- Toolbar doesn't save layout properly when flexible space is removed see pictures. DefaultBar.png shows how I use it normally and then I remove flexible part. After restarted without flexible is changing to AfterRestartBar.png. I wouldn't call it a bug but bar is not idiot prove :)
- On newly installed macOS where Phonix wasn't open yet, it asks to delete settings where is non.

When Phonix saves playlist? Asking as many times I see playlist from previous sessions like it wasn't saved on quit or system restart. Can it be saved once is set/updated?

EDIT 19:00:
One more bug I've found.
- When adding more songs than playlist can fit and display, sometimes those below screen tags are not read. Phonix read them once track is played. I added same folder and I got one copy of all songs but tags are still not read, literally below window edge. Instead tags it displays file names. In this case files are flac.

EDIT 19:25:
More:
- When you quit Phonix, next time playlist will be duplicated. I mean same songs twice on list.
- Just noticed that autoplay still don't work, can't even change song or resume, Phonix look like it plays but in fact is stuck on beginning of the song.

Kind Regards
Thom

Hello I've made a little website for Phonix and also enabled auto update with the Sparkle framework.

So grab this version if you are using Phonix here -> https://phonix.nl.eu.org

- enable check for updates
- Made one version, not 2. Compatible on 10.11,10.12,10.13
- dropped 10.10 support. Not compatible anymore, sorry
- fix playlist refresh problem in the part that is not visible when dragging new songs.
- fixed auto play
- disabled toolbar customisation. Not possible anymore.

hello

https://phonix.nl.eu.org contains Phonix 2.2

-added DSF (Super Audio) support
-tabbar redesign and rework
-audio engine fixes
-cosmetic changes
-artwork titlebar is now clickable to hide/show artwork
-more bugfixes

Hi Vivi,

Thanks for last update, Phonix is really getting better.

Bug report:
- Autoplay doesn't work at at all. After restart there is no playlist. Tested with deleted settings as well as wiped all configuration files.
- autoupdate selection shows "Stable" & link to stable, see picture. Once you select "Stable" other option disappears from selection.
- Toolbar has plenty gaps and it causes level meter to be hided at first run - this is just a cosmetic thing.

Can you change "Au" and "K-Meter" to same style icon like rest of them on toolbar? Just an idea but I think that would only benefit to Phonix. It'll look more clean and pro. Would be nice to have artwork icon back - now it look something is missing.

You could add link to this forum on the website.

Edit: I've just noticed something weird. On picture 1 waveform is shrank and it look it still plays even song is ended. Next picture shows same song but waveform look normal - only I did was click on next song and back to the same. Noticed something else, but not sure how to describe. When clicked on playlist to change a song, progress line jumped to about where shrank waveform ended and then, when next song started playing waveform has changed to new song, line jumped again to beginning.

Edit2: It has happen with other songs as well see 3 & 4.

Thanks
Thom

new Phonix v2.5 is online an a now signed app/binary in a DMG

https://phonix.nl.eu.org

Hi Vivo,

Thanks for update, testing new version but for not very long and I noticed one problem:
- Autoplay resumes for random times (one or more) and then stops - I tried to replicate it and there is no actual number how many times you need to launch and close program. But after you continue launch and quit will start playing a file from top of list. However proper playlist remain with no duplicates on it.

I like new icon but is a little to small - perhaps size of old icon will do? Can you change rest of icons to same style please?
One more thing. Is it possible/not much time consuming to add to preferences switch to hide/show Au & K-Meter from toolbar? I prefer apps to as small as possible and I don't use them.

Cheers,
Thom

hello

new Phonix version 2 build 12 is online: https://phonix.nl.eu.org

- check for updates is gone. It did not work well.
- many fixes see change-log on the website
- signed with apple certificate too for the sake of GateKeeper

Hi Tom it's fixed here https://phonix.nl.eu.org

Phonix v2 build 17

- many transport fixes and timing issues solved
- fix playlist search field
- reduce cpu
- upgraded 3rd party components

Hi Vivo,

Thanks for quick fix. Almost everything works fine, however how search text look was that intentional? On my install look corrupted/dithered. See picture.

Screen Shot 2017-09-17 at 15.41.21.png

I noticed some little things as usual:
- K-Meter opened from FX pull down list doesn't use same setting as the one opened from tool bar own button. Settings need to be saved separately.
- Opening K-Meter causes sound to "break up/crack" for small part of second. I think I heard that on different occasions too.
- Time to time between tracks you can hear the cracking click noise. Should not happen with gapless playback. I tried to reproduce this by playing back previous track and let it play again but it played with no issues, so I'm sure it's not track/file problem.

Phonix version 2 build 20 is online @ https://phonix.nl.eu.org

- fix au fx again
- fix gapless playback
- fix corrupted look on search field
- remove k-meter from au list, there is already one in Phonix

Opening k-meter does give a click, it's bypassing or not. Will have a look at this if it's fixable.
[doublepost=1505724953][/doublepost]Hi Thom,

I fixed the K-Meter clicking in build 21 . https://phonix.nl.eu.org

Hi Vivo,

After two days testing, finally can tell that it works fine, no issues found so far (except still corrupted text on search - not important really).

Is this the time to ask for new features & modifications? I do have some nice features I wish to see. ;)
- Can you add .mpc support?
- Can search be moved to icon? Let say next to folders icon. It could open dialog window for search then.
- Horizontal scroll in file folders tree. Some of the albums got similar and long names so can't see where differences are. However instead scroll it can be balon tip with entire name when hover over the folder.
- Option in setting to change behavior of "set playlist" to "set playlist and play" like you did with "Menubarplaylistbutton shows Phonix window/playlist".

Edit: I lied, I found one thing. K-metter doesn't save window position - look like vertically only.

Edit2: Happened again, Phonix stopped during playback. I wonder if this is caused by file location. All of files are stored on NTFS read-only partition.
- Can you add to sound output "selected output device" so Phonix will use system selected device. That would allow to use something like Boom switched on the fly. (this if possible/not to boring/to much time consuming)

Kind Regards
Thom

Hello,

Time for a Phonix update so here is V3 Beta 1

https://phonix.nl.eu.org/Releases/Phonix3.zip

- minimized audioGraph changes
- combined window for fxSelector and fxU
- implemented artwork search

You can now search via musicbrainz search engine, search for cover art. Press right mouse on an item in the playlist and choose "Search artwork"

Use at own risk: it can write Artwork and metadata into MP3/Wav/Flac/Aiff

But only when you click Write to file(s)...

Multiple Songs selected in the playlist will get written with cover art when you press Write file(s) button in Coversearch window.
