Look I'm not a professional either. Just Macrumors clearly has two areas.I don't pretend to be a professional photographer, most of my current photos are taken with my iPhone 11 pro. Which to this day I still don't know how to use the features of the camera. But I try. Out of the thousands of photos I have most were taking years ago with a disposable camera. By your standards, I only have a handful of photos which would be deemed worthy of posting. (And of those photos the subject was my CAT Bella, she was the only one who would pose for me) I come here and enjoy all the photos the "quality pictures" as well as the "awful snapshots poorly composed and exposed." Thanks to all who post photos.
One the digital photography sub forum for people interested in photography
Two the picture threads where people can post pictures of their cat/dinner/watch etc.
Lately there doesn't seem to be much point in having the two as they all seem to be the same to me. I just preferred it when there was more quality in the photography and less quantity.
Thats what happens when you are an old timer. Things change and you just have remember things aren't what they used to be.
BTW I have nothing against cats or cat pictures. I just think there is a difference between a photo and a picture. I have probably less than a handful of photos of my daughter. None of them are of good quality (I've never shared any on here for example). But to me they are most precious photos. I would keep everyone of them over the thousands of other images I have. But the truth is they are not good photographs. Just all I have left of her.
