Where I run. I want to go back after more green is on the trees and get a better shot showing more of the winding paved trail.

To keep with the 'things we've found in different times of the year/seasons of the year', (if that's what we are doing now). I was several hours from home, and took my mountain bike because I was going to another area the next day that had 'some trails'. So I saw a really short trail that had some bridges like this. I figured, what the heck, and threw my stuff on, and took off to explore. I found a rather large turtle on the end of one of the bridges. He was a stout looking fellow, and had an out of scale attitude. He turned to face me as I got near him. He also hissed at me, and I've had cats, and hissing at me is a deal breaker. I slowly approached him (I assume it was a he) and he took a decidedly 'macho' pose. He was going to 'take it to me'. Well, okay...

So I rolled towards him, and he reared up, and started looking really aggressive. Me, on a 29" mountain bike, full gear, and him, well not. As I rolled closer, he started coming at me, and bit my tire! I was so frightened (not really), but he wasn't giving any ground. He was determined to keep me at bay. I have to give him kudos for having the balls to do that, I was impressed. So I backed off, found a stick, and let him attack me through the stick as a proxy. Oh, yeah, he bit, HARD. I was actually able to lift him up, and move him off the briddge to save other people from his Napoleon Complex. Such bravado from such a small, and ferocious entity. I really was impressed. Do your worst!!!

From trip to Bull Creek Wildlife Management Preserve. Didn't know was hunting scheduled on calendar so stayed on road. Didn't know of this place as first destination was close to hikers while hunting active and they direct me to here, which actually bordered the other place. This one, while active hunting (turkey) was more spread out with 13 mile dirt loop road and 7 parking areas. each parking area only had 3 or 4 cars at the trailheads so just stayed visible.
