Wow, in the last 15 minutes I have been researching tilt-shift images like a madman. This is exceptional!!! I will definitely go try it out.

For now, check out this video I stumbled across: Not only does it feature one of my favorite artists (Radiohead's Thom Yorke), but it features MOVING FOOTAGE in 'Tilt Shift' perspective!! (Sorry if you have already seen it)..

http://www.bentimagelab.com/sg/pages/HH_Video.htm

Thats a great video! It took a ton of work! It looks like they basically edited every frame with the tilt-shift method and then put it back together, and added other things...its a fun technique and i have some more works i will post later lol

EDIT: It works best when you take the picture looking down at something, it gives the feel of really looking at a model. Here are a few linkys for you to check out.

Yes, indeed, English Bay. I took a few other shots, all in the same spot, was focused on the Runners. See here at http://gallery.mac.com/naftalim#100063

I looked at this shot and thought, "hey, that looks familiar, hey they had the vancouver Sun Run this past weekend, hey that's around the corner from my place!" At least I believe it's English Bay, correct me if I'm wrong.

If so, did you get any other shots of English Bay? I love going there for great sunset pics.

That's a really great shot. I love his facial expression - "ahh it's closing in from both sides" :p

So many great surf shots here I'm gonna give it a go. :D

Thanks man. Definitely throw some pics from down under up. I want to see how the waves are doing on the other side of the world

I have a rule that I don't start golfing until the Flames (local hockey team) season is done. Out in the first round of the playoffs.

Thanks for all the help Ipodtoucher, I'll definitely show you as soon as I can find a good enough photo to try the effect on..

Here's one for today.. (I was watering my mothers flower garden and got all crazy with the "mist" setting on the hose.. Then realized that the flowers looked really nice for it :))

^^ Pretty damn cool flower shot! Striking composition; almost expect it to start talking a'la Little Shop of Horrors! I really like the way the background tulip head is heading off outta shot. You know, considerations elsewhere & giving one more to think about. Like the last drawn-out scene to The Soprano's!
Probably not making any sense here at all. As a wise person once said, I could just say "I like it!".

Hey ipodtoucher, have you ever tried to do an HDR picture with the Tilt-shift lens? A few of my office colleagues are curious to see if anybody has tried it, we haven't had much luck finding examples that weren't HDR's with fake tilt shift effect.

Well I've never tried, and there tilt-shift photos i used were JPEG format and HDR works best with Raw...I assume you would just apply the HDR in Photomatix and then apply the tilt-shift technique in Photoshop...I am going back to DC this weekend and will hopefully get some good pics to try it, since now i only shoot RAW hahaha...i will definitely give it a try and see how it turns out...

Funny how the tilt shift effect is becoming popular all of a sudden...I photoshoped this pic right before the first tilt shift photo was posted in this thread. I wasn't actually going for a tilt shift effect here, just incase it may have looked like I didn't "do it properly".

edit: wow i didn't know there was auto censoring (tilt shiFt typo). that's pretty neat.
