I saw a pretty impressive break today that I don't normally see around here.
The ocean at the base would sink down whilst the heavy lip collapses on itself.

Not really a picture of the day, but I finally worked up the confidence and got it be of my images printed large and got it framed! Not an amazing image but I like it. Laird Knox must feel awesome in his own gallery!

A solemn start to April for me as my mum had to have her beloved dog put to sleep due to heart issues. Here's a pic of him that I may have posted before.

It's always tough when you have to make a decision like that. Please tell your mum I'm sorry to hear about it. Doesn't matter that she doesn't know me.

It looks great! I actually just started making prints. I haven't had prints made in years, but there's always been a part of me that doesn't feel like a photograph is real until it has been printed.

Hong Kong in the blue hour... (the tall tower across the bay is the International Commerce Centre, Hong Kong's tallest building and has dot-matrix style illumination on the exterior that can display some interesting designs - in this case a reflection of clouds)

Thanks Ish.

She went through a very rough time a few years back and was pretty depressed so we got her the dog to try and help her get her life back together under the guise of her helping him out, as he was a rescue dog who had suffered from neglect. He was the perfect solution to both of their problems and it changed her life for the better. As you can imagine, this has made it even harder for her to lose him.

Photo of the day April 2015

Mrs MacRy has to work today so, to pass the time, I grabbed a bedsheet and put my new flashes I got for my birthday to good use. Amazing I got him to sit still long enough to allow me to take his photo.

Well done. What do they say about never work with children or animals? I tried taking some shots of my dads dog last summer, but he would not sit still for a moment.

Nice shot, but I'm missing the highlight in its left eye. Now it looks like it has only eye.

If it is any comfort, Oblomow, I had the same experience! I looked at the image, wondering why I wasn't seeing any highlights from the left eye, looked more closely, still wasn't sure what I was seeing (or not seeing).....I knew something was not quite right. Because the dog's face is black that makes it more difficult to discern for sure just what the situation is.

(It might be a good idea, MacRy, to mention in your first post, the one with the image, this issue, that the dog has only one eye ?)
