The third installment in my new sand dunes series. I call this one "Close Encounter" because the clouds ultimately dropped down to the level of the dunes, surrounding me in a sea of white nothingness. Pretty amazing! There is more to the story, which you can read here: LINK.

There's a beautiful balance and symmetry to this photo which I very much enjoy, with the landforms being echoed by the clouds, both horizontally and vertically. That's amazing. The light is beautiful too and you've brought out some wonderful detail in the sky.

I enjoyed the background story as well, it brings the photo to life. Do you wait out a whiteout like that or have a compass with you?

Beautiful use of light and shadow. I don't know when you took it but it looks like a showery April day.


At first glance it looks as though the chap further away from us is levitating! :)
