Beautiful use of light and shadow. I don't know when you took it but it looks like a showery April day.
Very nice, but if you keep picking them you'll have none left!I decided in hindsight that yesterday's iris looked a little droopy (or maybe I just don't know much about flowers). Anyway, I plucked another one from the garden and had another go at it.

Have to agree with the concensus on this being one of your best photos I have seen. Love the way the light only seems to shine on the church, whilst the rest of the surrounds has that ominous stormy feel. You could almost sell this to the popes marketing department!!Springtime light...
Thanks, AFB -- they seem to do well despite my lack of gardening skills...

Been a while since my last upload, so here is a newbie from me. No auto on the camera, so forced to learn to take real photos which has had its frustrations. I've been learning more about lightroom too. So another of my new daughter looking rather content. Comments and criticism appreciated View attachment 629210
You know you need a signed release to use photos of me and my daughters right?
Nice picture.

This actually looks very pleasing. Is this with you frankenrigged Helios? it is strangely 70s film like.

Wee cutie. Makes me remember my two when they were teeny tiny... meanwhile right now I am sat at my mac trying to stay calm while my eldest is avoiding getting ready for school... I could tear my hair out right now and it would be less painful than trying to get them ready!

Do you know what is amazing? bit of a selfish moment, forgive me, but right now there are a couple of folks on here from my corner of the world that I call home. A home I need to visit again soon as my dad needs help with some work in the house.
It is so so nice to see pictures coming up of Newcastle and the surrounding areas in Northumbria. Beautiful part of the world.
So nice to see it. Keep them coming guys.
When I am driving home. the Angel of the North and this one below make my heart soar as I know I am home...
This one has flowers in it if you look hard enough! Comments always appreciated.

That totally makes me think of Jack Vettriano paintings! the colours, the composition, the old vs new. Very very nice indeed!

I had a few of his prints around for a while and you are spot-on. Very reminiscent.
I was scrolling up the picture there because of the way the page loaded and before I reached an inch above the tree I knew it was yours! even without seeing the name at the bottom.
Then you need to come over here and help me. We paid a fortune ( in my opinion) for a little cherry blossom tree last year.
We either picked poorly or I am an Eco-murderer as this thing has died despite me following the replanting instructions :-(
I'd love to, but I don't think I would be much help with the gardening -- unless it is supposed to be brown. I seem to have much more success with the established plants left by the previous owners than anything I have planted myself.
[doublepost=1461946695][/doublepost]@Laird Knox's Trip-Tych series (which is amazing, by the way) got me thinking about trying to do a diptych of sorts with hummingbirds in different positions of flight. I thought this one (these two?) worked better as a composite image than as a diptych, but I liked the idea of showing the same bird in different positions as it hovered...

I really want to be able to click "Really like" on this one...
You'd have to go a long way to kill your roses, but as for the cherry, our baby tree was planted in February and is doing just fine - even a little blossom !Now see that is where I am too. We have the most amazing Roses in our garden as the guy before us was an expert in them... they colour at different stages of the year and they appear in the most AMAZING colours... I hope I havent killed them this year! the neighbours will be p*ssed if I have...
