Going to break the rules slightly and share two versions of the same pic, one in B&W and one in color.

I tend to prefer B&W for many subjects and in general prefer the B&W version of this photo. However, the tonal values of his right hand blurred with the tonal values of his shirt and since both are out of focus it creates kind of a mess in the foreground. Not an issue with the color version. Would welcome opinions. 50mm prime @ f/1.4.

You're right, I'd go for the colour version :)

More infrared...

On this one, I prefer the color version. The blue glasses and the orange spoon add to the photo and I agree with the out of focus hand effecting the B&W. BTW, your son is very photogenic in all of the pics you've posted with him. He looks to be a natural in front of the camera.

Thanks! Not sure how much longer it will last, but I'm trying to make the most of it :)

Mine for today is from the weekend.

Was playing with my Celestron C8 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. The bird is maybe 50 feet in front of me so there was no need to crop this image. Moving the scope around on its equatorial mount to follow a subject is impossible, so only subjects that stay in the narrow field of view are options.

Sony a6000, f10, 2000mm, 1/50 sec., ISO 400. Bird is in the shade. You can see a reflection of the house in the birds eye!

Went to the zoo on Monday. Saw the Pandas and got the obvious request on way home from the little one... "Dad, can we watch Kung Fu Panda when we get home?"

I thought the obvious request when visiting zoo's and the like was "Dad can I get this (overpriced) toy from the gift shop?"
