Thanks, wish I'd seen that particular link before I went ahead. I've probably got a rubber washer the correct size to have a go myself sometime and put it right.

Cheers :)

I've just had a sniff and can confirm she doesn't smell of coconut. Strange look I'm getting now though.

Cheers :)

Hugh
I'd imagine she is giving you strange looks!

There's a saying you may have heard that when gorse is out of flower, kissing is out of fashion. A reference, I believe, to the fact that it flowers year round.

I think it's Keith.

Well done MacRy! Love it :D

Something closer to home. Comments always appreciated.

Lovely composition and nice subject isolation which I feel works well for this shot. The background structure looks like an aqueduct, which made me think "What have the Romans ever done for us?" ;)

Another one from my garden I'm afraid.

And yes I don't usually shoot flowers with a 200-500mm lens!

If you got it, and it works, you might as well use it. Otherwise it's a lotta glass to dust off in between the times you need the full zoom. Least that's the attitude I'm starting to take with my 80-400.

Envious of your lens collection, that's what I am aiming to eventually own more or less, but 1 step at a time.

Have officially done my first "commercial shot". Cafe wanted to offer discount coffee to my clients, but no high res logo to put up on the website. So 20 shots narrowed to 1, and a little playing in photoshop to get this. C&C always appreciated

From the comments posted with the video it looks like the washer dimensions are:

OD = 30.5 mm - ID = 28.7 mm - thickness = 1.4mm

Cheers Kallisti - the background is the Dutton railway viaduct on the West Coast main line (sounds almost Californian...) probably the busiest rail line in the UK. Built in 1836 only 11-years after the first locomotive-hauled public railway in the world. Plenty of old industry around here....even the Romans were big in Cheshire with Chester having a lot of Roman stuff.

Another view of half of the viaduct.
