and another 200 or so at a different spot that day, and another 200 and a 3rd spot, same day ...

i used film when i started, and still forget i can take what ever i need or now 64GB
maybe taking that "one" photo is better than a thousand
which depends on the scene!
Yep, and 1 photo (film, develop, print) cost you probably 30-40 cent ... digital photography per photo is dirt cheap compared to those days

That is a lovely image. We have those over here as well ('distelvink' or 'puttertje'). They are soo beautiful, almost like tropical birds that escaped from a zoo.
Edit: I realise now that's not new information. Fabratius painted it in 1654, so he must have had an example.

Thanks, they are lovely wee birds and their wings are also very colourful.

Beautiful capture. We get them here in our garden. I just never get that good a photo!

I wish I had them in my garden, I have to travel a short distance to get to where this photo was taken. Most I’ve seen is 4 at once, the tricky bit is catching them on their way onto / off of the feeders, where they perch for a few seconds before flying to the feeder. It’s even more difficult to get a clean background. I shot this from the car, out the window, which allows me to get closer without scaring them away.

Thanks ??

Well, this came up on my Mac Photo App memories - 11 years ago I took a day trip (as I had a long weekend off due to Easter and took an extra couple of days) to Aosta, Italy. I had a hard time choosing which image to post as there were several interesting choices, including a Roman arch and a bridge built over a stream that no longer exists. I like this one of a Roman ruin in what was the forum as it shows the Alps and a bit of the modern 21st century world. Taken at the time with my Sony DSC-W210.

Past (Roman ruins), Present (crane and building under construction), and Past-Present-Future (the Alps).

i would adjust the photo brighter were you can more eye detail in the cat - nice capture tho!
Agreed, the picture could have been better and for the reason you give. By the time I realized that, the little stinker had moved away... ?

Thank you for the constructive feedback! ?

Rusted hulk of a pickup truck near my favorite running trail at the Battelle Darby Creek Park in Columbus. It has at least been there since 2008 (when I started tracking my running). But it took until now for me to take some pictures of it. Before the roof supports collapsed, it was easier to tell it was a truck (likely a pickup) of some sort.
