Not so many flowers around here, but it finally stopped snowing this morning. While we wait for Still Winter to change over to Construction season, lots of birds are coming in. This guy was not that big so it was nice to be able to crop quite a bit on top of the 360mm equivalent lens.

star magnolia. I love these, we planted one in our yard, but they are really hard to get a photo of (probably because I'm always trying to shoot it as a macro!). Nice job.

Thanks so much for the id, and comments. I took several photos that morning, but was not very impressed with most - the location, high branches, combined with the morning lighting, was difficult.

Where and how do you find these rare and beautiful photo opportunities?

Back in the beginning of Feb. I posted this photo (https://forums.macrumors.com/media/rose2-jpg.812240/full) of a solitary rose growing out of the middle of a big succulent plant, couple days laters someone clipped it off. Well today it is back with a few more buds waiting to bloom. Rose bushes are very persistent!

Lovely portrait. I'm a very big Common Grackle fan. They're noisy, they sound like a creaking gate, they carry the odd disease or two, they march around like mafia dons and are generally considered "bad birds". They're fantastic parents and pretty smart too. I like bad birds. They have personality, generally. Excellent!
