Everywhere you look in New England, outside the cities, folks have old barns like this in their yards. This one built c. 1933.

Back at the cities sports stadium again. This time for a collective of different surfaces and finishes that I found visually cohesive, in a messed up kind of way. The left hand dark section almost looks like a portal of some kind to me, so I deliberately highlighted a few portions of it, hopefully making you wonder where it leads to and what is there.

I like the colour in this one however I might try it with less clarity / sharpening on the building and trees on the right. Maybe add a bit of a vignette, film grain and it would be a lovely vintage postcard pic, nice one!
Thanks - sounds like a plan to me - I'll give it a try and let you know how it works.

Out and about at New Lanark, a World Heritage Site near Glasgow. This is the Dundaff Linn, one of the lower falls of the Clyde. Comments always appreciated.

Very nice... I think I have stood in that exact spot but lack of wide angle and being too daft to remember to pan and stitch, i missed it.

I really like the lights and colours but I thought in retrospect I would have prefered more of the run of buildings on the left maybe -usual caveat, i have all the gear, no idea. Don't know, just remember kicking myself and wanting to go back and step to the left a bit.... I googled it at the time and saw a version where the buildings formed a leading line for the water and wished I had thought of that at the time.

It is a very photogenic spot though nicely done.

Another take on Dundaff Linn - retro attempt. Comments always appreciated.

Lol... LOVE IT! Read my other comment and you will know why!

Absolutely spot on! And I like the retro effect, I am going to go to Summerlee at some point again as they have lots of old industrial machinery that I think would accept this treatment nicely.

Also, I found a run of village cottages that are straight off a picture postcard in Carmunnock. Just need to catch them when one if the owners hasnt got his Range Rover parked in front.

After more than 5 years living in north of Scotland, I still do struggle with Czech summers like we have now. So I totally know what you mean! Swimming in a North Sea with 15 degrees, priceless!

...and thinking today is a scorcher when you do it... Yes, pretty much where we are. 16 degrees at blairdrummond near Stirling yesterday and the Glasgow tourists thought it was Taps Aff weather. For the less travelled amongst us, that is Glaswegian for "tops off" btw big man. (This is a joke. Anyone from here or who has been here will get it).

Today it is 13, the sky is blue and sure enough Mrs Kenoh has ditched our plans to take the girls to Edinburgh and today is officially an "in the garden day". She has threatened to get the paddling pool out it is so warm! Wonder how long it will be before I am landed with pruning, weeding, mowing duties?

I worked in Somers, NY for a year in a previous life for a prominent soft drinks company. I used to drive the back roads from my apartment in Stamford Connecticut everyday and passed sites like this. I always thought they were beautiful but i wasnt into photography then. Now I wish i could go back in time and capture them. If only foresight was as clear as hindsight we would be happy campers.

Lovely picture, maybe, and usual caveat - I dont know what i am talking about - maybe dont take it so square on next time? Maybe a slightly more jaunty angle would give it more pop. IMHO

Thanks Kenoh. What I'd really like is to catch one of the days when the river isn't diverted through the hydro-electric power station and see the falls in all their glory. A pretty overcast day but simmet weather nonetheless:) (simmet = vest for the non-Weegies).

I thought Scottish people in general think it's Taps Aff weather when it's over 15 degrees and it's sunny. Suncream and portable BBQs sold off and everyone headed to the beach! That joke definitely brings back memories so thank you!

Haha I can so refer to that - hope your outdoor duties aren't too bad today then! :)

Suncream? Nothing stops the peely-wally completion turning red after a few minutes of sunshine...I've taken your advice and will post a greatly improved reworked version tomorrow .

That is very correct!

Looking forward to it, I really feel that image might be great with those added but that's just my perspective.
