Nice layering... Lovely light

ET phone home. ..I've finally got to edit my selfie from a recent Perseid meteor shower. A few of them caught in this image with the Milky Way on the left. Unfortunately a bit of a light pollution from the village.

Thats great. Love how it has picked up your light beam into space... cracking colours and detail.
Thanks a lot, my second try with astrophotography! Found a good rural spot with as little light pollution as possible and finally found some use for my headlamp again. I've seen it a few times and wanted to see how it looks myself.
30s exposure on f3.5 with PP in Lightroom to tweak the curves and levels mostly.
I was going to ask your settings. I have tried this before and failed. I just get an orange glow so suspect that is because I am not in a dark enough spot. Need to make an effort to go to a dark place and try again.
There is a windfarm not far from me, I wonder if maybe I could get a good image of a sky and one of the towers in it in silhouette.
Nice shot well done.
A handheld quickie of a tiny (3mm long) Jumpy-Jumpy from yesterday afternoon in the front yard. Considering I'm as wobbly as all get up, the image is handheld and my macro lens has no image stabilisation, I'm well chuffed with my luck to get focus across all eight eyes.
Canon 6D, Tamron 90mm Macro (no IS or VR), ISO 100, 1/125 sec, f/11, with handheld flash & a large soft-box.
Chris, I could see this printed large and on a doctors waiting room wall. Very nice!

I believe it is. I read somewhere, that the smaller the basket is often the older the balloon is. In other words as they get older and less reliable they are only licensed to take a smaller number of people. Is that a KwikSave balloon? do they still exist? Not seen a KwikSave in donkeys years!

So I haven't seen one in years either. Apparently they went into administration in 2007 but started up again in 2012. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwik_Save
Another Balloon with a slightly different process. Might not be to everyone's taste, but I like it.
