An Almond Blossom from yesterday, where I got eaten alive by ants, whilst taking this. They were all over me, right up onto my neck even! Must have looked funny to the family playing on the playground adjoining where I was.

Canon 6D, Tamron 90mm macro, 31mm extension tube, flash and handheld again because of the wind.

The proverbial suffering for one's art. Well, at least it was worth it as this is a very nice shot.

My weekly photography group was supposed to go on a field trip to a couple of churches with graveyards yesterday but it was raining cats and dogs, so we ended up indoors shooting a variety of flowers from my yard, using my two piece desktop lighting setup.

This one was achieved in camera through playing with the angle of light hitting the flower and also by spot metering on the pollen and stamen area.

I think I'll print this one out at A3 size, I really like it.

So a strange composition. Opposite the Walt Disney Concert Hall was a fountain outside the entrance to an apartment block/hotel. I took the shot but wasn't really sure what to do with it PP as it looks more like a weird composite.

I agree, it looks like a funky tryptic. Great spot mate, I like the contrast the of the texture of the water feature against the concert hall. The water has an almost hammerite effect vs the smooth of the concert hall. Nice. Converging verticals though... Tsk tsk.... Looking up were you :)

I really like this image for the details. The droplet to the left, the detail in the stamen, the flush of colour. I am thinking it would look beautiful in our kitchen on the wall right above the main work surface printed L A R G E... It is the kind of image that lifts a room.

Sorry bit gushy there... maybe should have left it at Nice one dude...

Thank you. It was taking in the evening, but I see what you mean. The family enjoyed it as much as I did. I don't like posting portraits, otherwise you could have seen the smile on their faces. ( and not just because of the scones, hotdogs and baked beans...)

I like the image and enjoy those low light conditions.
Harris has been on my list for around 10 years but I just can't find the time to get up there. It's becoming more popular now and I hope it doesn't go the way of Iceland / Lofoten.

She'll be right mate! ;)

Thanks, Ken, I did wonder about getting it printed larger on canvas for our kitchen/dining room space. Great minds think alike hey!

I like it, but, I wonder how it would go in B&W and with straightening the converging lines, making sure it was centred absolutely too.
