I'm going to try. It's also my 50th birthday the day of the eclipse. Hopkinsville, KY, the town that is the center of the eclipse with the longest duration, is my hometown. The heavenly bodies are aligning to celebrate my 50th trip around the sun. Therefore this eclipse is all about me.
I'm not going back to Hopkinsville, though. My parents no longer live there, and it is further away than I want to go. I'm going to a much closer location that's still in the totality zone.
