What resolution, size, do you normally post pictures for this thread?

A couple of months ago I ran into a problem when trying to post large jpegs directly to the server and it turned out that there were a couple of constraints on image size. The first was the file size which appears to be limited to files smaller than either 1.1 or 1.3 MBs, not sure which one. The other limit is pixel dimension. The Macrumors support team wasn't able to give me an exact number but for a 1 MB file it looked like a 4800 x 3200 pixel image was acceptable. Their recommendation was to bring the resolution down to 1620 x 1080 and work with the jpeg quality to bring it under a 1 MB limit.

I use the same settings here as I do for Facebook and other websites. I have a preset in LR that sets the long edge to 900px and the resolution at 100PPi. I also have Sharpen for Screen set to YES.

Here is another sunset photo. I'm more than a little annoyed that this is from my phone and nearly perfect to what I saw that evening (as are all the other sunset/phone photos) and my RAW images from my D700 and D800 all have to be highly processed.

Have you tried switching to j-peg in camera? Basically by shooting RAW you are manually doing the bit the iPhone is doing.
That said I always shoot RAW as I think that the PP is just as important as taking the image.

Anyway I like the image.

Love it. Love the colour contrasts..
[doublepost=1503305149][/doublepost]Whoopsie Daisy... boring one from the weekend. Weather sucked this weekend. On the plus side, the little one got a new bike and within an hour of getting it, she is riding without stabilisers. Woohoo! no more forced jogging along side them!

Shooting jpeg on a big camera would give me hives, lol. I am actually quite proficient with editing raw images in both LR and in PS, and I have a basic LR preset for import that works to get the vast majority of my images a good base right off the bat (except for straightening horizon lines; apparently I only shoot drunk :D). I suspect for the sunset images I just need to add way more contrast to get that dramatic look.

I find the iPhone 7+ camera to be okay. As long as,
There is good light.
Not much dynamic range.
You leave the portrait mode switched off.

I too seem to have one leg longer than the other causing my horizons to be a tad wonky... EVERY DAMN TIME! :)

I too get a bit of a huff on when i have to work to get an image that is nice out of RAW when the phone seems to do it nice in certain circumstances.. sit and wonder why I bother sometimes... :)

- watch for it... here comes the abuse...

I met my wife overseas. In Atlanta. 21 years ago last month.

None of those Essex girls were keepers!
