Tanagra (not really)
My pleasure. This is such an amazing place, I had no idea there were so many arches in one location. Are you planning on visiting Delicate Arch? that was pretty cool.

My personal favorite is the Double Arch. Arches NP is a fascinating and beautiful place. I would like to get back there someday as I didn't see as much as I would like when I was there before. If you have any more pictures you are willing to share with us here @malofx I would definitely be interested in seeing them.

I haven’t been in many years, but I liked Delicate Arch as well. You have the La Salle mountains as a possible backdrop too. I also like how it showed up in Horizon Zero Dawn, too! Every time I see double arch, I think of the beginning of the third Indiana Jones movie.

Sure am ( assuming my knees hold up ) . Last time it was around 100+ and my GF was not about to walk 3 miles "to see some more rocks" . This was after the walk to Landscape/Pine Tree arches.
Only a mile* . She was NOT amused . We drove all the way to the Devils Garden area , and worked our way back , which was probably a good idea all things considered at the time . Going alone this time and I've got a list . Did you get to see any of the petroglyph sites (Potash RD. or Kane Creek Drive?)

Great shot in wonderful light Alex. It would be interesting to see this done in one of your classic long exposure b&w shots.

Lol... Only because you arent used to it... I got a midsize camper through there in June... Easy peasy... Lol...
Easy peasy! Damn, I used to think I was a very capable driver. Rush hour in downtown Toronto - no problem but that was one tense drive through that area. It didn't help that the rental had lane departure warning (never had that before) and it was constantly beeping to the left and to the right telling me that I'm incompetent.

Just make sure to check the forecast, maybe go early as it gets hot. We did that one first because of the heat, but we did about a month ago, summer time.

Good luck, and I hope you make it.

And you always get a huge bus coming the other way... It is a tricky stretch of road best driven with the wing mirrors folded in and one eye scrunched shut - because that makes the car/van narrower right? :)

From the Corning Museum of Glass, such an amazing place!!!

Same Corning that makes the Gorilla Glass for our iPhones and iPads.

Wedding dress made of all glass.

I absolutely LOVED the Corning Museum of Glass, which I visited many years ago. It is an absolutely fascinating place and I also loved watching the glass being blown in the factory as new works of art were being created.... For anyone who loves glass/crystal, this is a must-visit place!!

I live in a place synonymous with glass. There is lots of little manufacturing places around, some open to the public.
I've always meant to try and photograph the process, but imagine it to be quite tricky with the dynamic range required.

I have been telling people on this forum for a long time that the Corning Museum of Glass is amazing, and a must see. If anyone lives in New York, especially Central New York, which is where I am at in between Syracuse and Albany (Utica, NY to be exact) right off the New York State Thruway or you live in the Southern Tier of New York you are not that far from Corning, NY. Also, if you live in Northern Pennsylvania, you are not that far from Corning, NY. Even if you live in NYC or in other parts of New York, you should try and visit, make it a little vacation. I have tons of pictures from the museum, I will post one each day I remember.

@Clix Pix, I do not know if when you visited if they had the classes where you can actually blow your own glass? I did that, and it was amazing, just my piece did not come out that great...haha. I highly recommend it to anyone really. I did not think I would like it all but basically from the moment I walked inside it just kept getting better and better and better, to the point where I was just blown away! If you get a chance you should come back and check it out now!

It is the technique from Anna Gospodarou and Joel tjintjelaar I think .

I'll have to look into this. at first I thought it was a long exposure with a ND filter on to enable the sky movement. off to google now...

They didn't have classes back then -- it was many, many years ago when I was there. Yes, y'know, I should do that, make a fun little trip out of it and go up to Corning for a couple of days..... I would love to surround myself with all that gorgeous glass and crystal again!

AFB, you should do that, go into one of the glass-blowing places and ask them if you can photograph the process! Yes, it would be rather tricky but you could get some really interesting images!

I'll add it to my list of places. Not been getting much shooting time in at the moment.

I only got to see some petroglyph at Capital Reef NP and also at Canyonlands I got to see the Newspaper rock, but wasn't very impressed about it. I wasn't aware of those you mentioned.
