Sometimes you just cannot stop taking pictures of pigeons...But that’s a bit different question. The issue here is - One picture is taken by Sony Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 @ f/4, ISO100 (often compared to Otus for it’s sharpness), and the other is taken by Sony 200-600mm @ f/6.3, ISO1250, 600mm. Both cropped to around same res., no extra sharpening.

Might not be the best samples and comparison, but...just for fun - Can you guess which is which? :)

Did you post this in the wrong forum? The weekly contests theme that ends today is "Transformation."
I didn't post it in the weekly contest thread because it's three pics combined thereby violating the rules of the contest to post only one pic.

This past week I went to NYC to see singer Jackie Evancho as a special guest performer at Feinstein's 54/Below, singing with Michael Feinstein himself. It was a terrific show! One nice thing about that supper club/cabaret setting is that people can shoot video or still photos and there are no restrictions on size and type of gear used, so a golden opportunity to try and get some nice shots. I took my RX10 M4 with me because, as a "bridge" camera, it has many features of a DSLR but has a fixed lens with a range of 24mm-600mm (35mm equiv), so it offers a lot of flexibility in compositions and shooting. The ever-changing colorful stage lighting was a challenge, of course, and so I set the camera to Auto ISO and of course turned off all sounds so that there wouldn't be any shutter clicking or focus beeping to disturb others. Shot in Aperture priority with spot metering, but even so at times did have to do some cropping and use the clone tool and the erase tool in post-processing We were seated off to one side at the Bar Rail, which is elevated above the main dining room where most of the audience sits, so that was advantageous, too. Putting the camera in Continuous High with its multiple frames-per-second helped me capture subtle changes of expression and movements. I'm still wading through an awful lot of images now, though! LOL!

Lovely setting. Maybe a tiny bit of fill flash would work wonders with your subject.

OK, I'll go for it. The one on the right is the 200-600mm based on what looks like a more noisy photo (ISO1250).

More car porn...Porsche this time.
