Wistfully gazing at the beautiful outdoors while a gentle breeze floats in through the screen:
It was actually hard to capture, as it was windy and I was trying to get the seed in focus. AF-C and single point needed!

An angry looking Hummingbird. He wasn't angry at me though, it was the other Hummingbirds that were flying into his area. They can be very territorial.

Thanks everyone. I wanted to share I have a relative honored there, who has passed. He was a member of the regiment. There was a fitting memorial, and I was also honored to meet his surviving comrades in arms.
Very nice photo. The walls would probably tell of all the scraped knees and shoulders
Siberian Lily, I have been told. This thing is enormous, tall plant, and flower petals that look like made of leather. My wife and I planted them around the house, and every summer they show up

Oh how I have missed studio lights and macro work. I think I'm on the way to something workable again, even if this one is boring and more for diagnostics than artistic merit. Still, these are fun.
D800 and Nikon 105mm f/2.8D, manually focused to 1:1. f/16 set on the lens(f/32 effective aperture at that reproduction ratio) and handheld. SOOC JPEG(too lazy to work up the RAW) other than cropping.
