I have comparably large Canon DSLR gear and it is hefty. On a recent European trip, I left it at home for the first time on a major trip, instead taking the compact Canon G7X Mk II. I still shot all RAW and I have to say, I am not the least disappointed in the results. I use it now unless I want interchangeable lenses or know I'll be doing significant cropping or enlarging.
.. a walk along the street side of a local elementary school early this morning, with a view down stairs to annex units, playfield, and about. A bright first morning sun providing the contrasts.

Wait 'till I get the Nikon to Q adapter and try my LensBaby out on it
It is a fully featured mirrorless camera, with a very small sensor, but it does have focus peaking

First shot from the 'new' mini camera - I would say it's much better than an iPhone, not quite as good as an RX100, but overall I'm pleased so far...
