And Merry Christmas to you! ;)

...sorry, ya posted while I was typing. :)

Damn this year went fast, it feels like it should be late summer still. I guess that happens because the year didn't suck very much for me.

I too thought the year went by a lot faster, and they seem to each and every year. I once heard the explanation of why. When you are 4, 1/4th of your life is spent waiting for another year to wrap up. 1/4th of your life is a LOT of time. However, when you are 25 it is only 1/25th of your life. Makes perfect sense, eh?

I believe so, having thought the same thing.

This is Allison. Allison is a basset/beagle, about 8 years old. She's a rescue dog whom my aunt and uncle got in the summer of 2006. My aunt and uncle LOVE their dogs, and were almost done mourning the loss of their previous dog, Mona (who lived so be something like 199, in dog years).

Allison has a fantastic disposition - friendly, clever, yet not in your face all the time. Unfortunately, 6 weeks after my aunt and uncle got her, she escaped from a back yard and was struck by a van. My aunt was DEVASTATED, and yet, somehow, through surgeries and rehab that might seem ridiculous to some (underwater treadmills... for dogs), Allison has made it about 93% back. She's still a little wobbly on her legs, but she has every bit the mental acuity and cheeriness as she did when they first got her. The only sign of the accident you can see in this picture, taken on Christmas day, is that klingon-like ridge on top of her head. This is, however, rather fitting. My aunt is a trekkie.
