My dog's a mix between Bichon and Cocker Spaniel (they're called "Cockashons"). I haven't seen many Bichons in person, but definitely see some similarities.

I took this last spring. It's my current wallpaper and compliments something I'm working on. Shot with a Tokina f2.8 11-16.

Nice photo... I've just got the older Tokina 12-24mm but haven't used it much yet.

I sometimes think my old dog is a Baskerville :D

Cheers :)

Nice :) You'll have to get out and do some more shooting with it! Tokina makes some good lenses. I have an old Tokina-made Vivitar Series 1 70-210 and it's one of my favorite lenses. The 11-16 tends to be pretty soft in the corners.. and it flares easy.. but it's great for landscapes.

Yes, I had one before but let it go when finances got bad :( but I also have the Tokina 50-135 2.8 which I thoroughly recommend, despite some adverse reviews.

Cheers :)

Man, I love these photos. What do you guys use to edit them?(the ones that are edited) right now I just use Pixlr and Fotor and don't think they can do half of this stuff. I've been looking into Lightroom though but don't like the subscription method but heard it's the best for beginners.

Hi, I have tried a few tools including Capture One, Aperture, iPhotos and Lightroom for core management and adjustments. Lightroom is the one I keep going back to. I dont know about best for beginners but it certainly has an abundance of training and tips on the likes of youtube etc so you will never be far away from advice.

For more robust edits I use Photoshop. I have tried Pixelmator and Gimp but again, just keep going back to Photoshop. I am not in the same league as some of the people on here though. I mean look at the changes Bad Guy made to his portrait above! incredible.

I could never justify the cost of Photoshop until the subscription model came along. Now it is a no brainer, costed over a three year period of ownership, the subscription will be £320. Photoshop is £700 retail and lightroom is £100 ish. So assuming no upgrades in three years, it is cheaper on the subscription. If you upgrade to the new version each year, then it is even cheaper.

I do worry about the day I can no longer afford the subs though but I will cross that bridge when I get there. There is lots of debate over this topic but you need to make your own decision. Lightroom can still be had from Amazon on a perpetual license basis.

I use Lightroom 6 download, I have a hard time justifying paying a subscription for software.I also use Photoshop 6 that I purchased used. I'm just a hobbyist so having to pay a monthly subscription is not really a good ROI for me. I also have Affinity Photo and ON1 Photo 10 but prefer Lightroom. I tried GIMP and Pixelmator and not a big fan of either.

So something out of my comfort zone from a few weeks back. I was at Hyper Japan and thought I'd have a go at a little concert photography.
As anybody on here who knows will testify, I don't shoot people and the changing lights of the stage was a real challenge for me.
I was using a flash, but was quite far back for my SB900 to do much. Also my D750 was having its repair, so I was using the back up D7100.

LR standalone. Although for the one above, I used DXO Optics 10 as I think it does a better job in noise reduction than LR.

I'd have no problems recommending LR to someone getting started. Lots of stuff out there to help you get to grips with it.

For 99% of my photos, I use Lightroom 6 (stand alone app). I also use onOne Photo 10 for some creative edits.
Lightroom is great for managing images and really quite good at editing and processing. It seems fairly simple to use, and there are lots of videos and online tutorials.
