Have I been to some pretty New England lighthouse location recently? I think not. More Old England than New England. Disused lighthouse on the Mersey. Comments always appreciated. I'll admit to a bit of (over)post on the sky.

Lighthouse on the Mersey

Okay, so I grew up on the Wirral and I have no idea where this is ... New Brighton maybe?

Hey! You know the rules! Anything fun HAS to be checked by dad first to make sure it is fit for purpose! I may or may not have twinged my back. Plus, my knees may be ready to seize up tomorrow but the monkeys had a ball!

Forgot how sore trampolines are when you bounce on em wrong! #lostthetoleranceofyouth
We used to have one in our garden. I remember the pain!

Ian, this was taken from what was the most southern point in Lancashire (before regional reorganisation) - Hale Point. It's the opposite bank of the Mersey from the Wirral which would be off-frame over to the right in this shot. The "industry" on the horizon is the Stanlow refinery.

It's been a while since I posted a watch photo so here's my latest purchase that arrived today in the post from Hong Kong.

Sony A7 with 28-70mm kit lens and newly arrived extension tubes.

I suspect it'll anger watch geeks no end :)

Nautilus. I'm not so keen on the Aquanaut. Not that I have a spare £25k laying around for either of them. If only....

Ah couldnt see the bottom of the case to see if it was a Nautilus. Nice piece. Enjoy winding the watch idiot savants up.... :)

Must be between the Dingle and Speke / John Lennon airport then. I left from Speke, on to LHR and then JFK when I came here many years ago. Can't say I ever remember seeing that lighthouse despite using binoculars innumerable times from New Ferry which is close to being opposite ...

I was home over the thanksgiving week holiday but did not get the chance to shoot much, the weather was typically wet and cold. I did get to Anfield with my 14 year old and wife to see my beloved Reds play Bordeaux though ... magic.

Its a bit east of John Lennon - on the shore just outside of Hale Village. Easy to miss. Weather here has been wet but remarkably mild so far - one of the few dry days in December.

I am not even going to try and deny my affliction! me too.

My wife thinks I am a sad loser when I go into watch nerd mode. Or camera nerd mode or computer ner....... no wait.... yeah she just thinks I am a sad loser... :)
I imagine that she adopts the same thousand yard stare that Mrs MacRy has when I start telling her about the different movements I need to add to my collection, or why I "need" another lens for my camera.
