That isn't the Secret Cafe in Dumbo is it? I got chased for taking pictures when I was there. Apparently my camera looked professional so they said I had to apply to take pictures!
Huh? Thought you had an official paper from the cops giving you photographic carte blanche ...

The building was built to house the well pump and water system for the estate at Skylands in northern NJ . Neat building , almost like a hobbit house .

They were right , assuming you were trying to photograph the inside , or were on the establishment's property . Shooting outside , say from across the street in a public area , is OK.

Nah, I was on their cobble driveway so fair play... but I am a photographer who was denied the picture so I reserve the right to be grumpy at them anyway right?

That was me... and it works! :p

I had a stay out of jail card for Brooklyn Bridge Park too beginning of November in case someone told me I couldn't take my snaps of the city skyline. A nice lady in the permits department gave me her details and a "go away and leave him alone" letter. Just saying it didnt work for the restaurant that looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland at the base of the Manhattan bridge.

Been a while since I've posted. Filled up hard drive on the old laptop, external crashed, so been waiting to update. Recent holiday and I finally managed to be up early enough in good weather, to have my first attempt at a sunrise shot with a bit of the sunstar effect. Any tips would be appreciated, especially with what looks like the refraction artefacts, is that dirty lens (cleaned it later on), poor technique or positioning? or something more on the unavoidable side....
