Hooded Mergansers

Ever wonder how people find the time to spend countless hours watching video tutorials and editing shots in Photoshop...they retire. :)

Surely you are making videos not watching them?

Here is mine for the day. All that remains of the WWII gun emplacement at the fort in Brean, where they were attached to the concrete. Glad I had my tripod with me for this shot. It would never have looked as good hand held which is what I'd have normally attempted! Note to self. Take tripod out on every visit!

While at the parkour freestyle jam on Saturday, I was most impressed by this 'old fella' and that he is French and can say "parkour" with a thick French accent tops it all off! :D

Not me AFB, that's for certain. When it comes to Photoshop, I'm constantly amazed with it's capabilities...they seem endless and I'm just scratching the surface with what I want/need to do with photo editing. There's definitely a steep learning curve with Ps but I'm having fun with the learning process.

I'm still holding out on LR 6 so I don't have PS. I did get sent a code for Capture One 11 to play with, but I prefer being behind a camera rather than a computer screen.
I do enough of that with the day job!

The momentum and speed that these parkour guys can achieve boggles the mind! This guy could easily clear this tall vault-horse and then make it look effortless to land upright on the top of the board that he's heading towards, which is about two metres away, and he is a pretty tall lad!

Test shot with a new body (Sony A7RIII) and new lens (Batis 135mm). Cropped from the original to fill the frame. No LR profiles yet for the new camera so having to use Capture One. Still getting used to Capture One, but I prefer LR at this point and don't think it's a function of learning new software. Will see as I play with it more.

Sony A7RIII with Zeiss Batis 135mm f/2.8 lens @ 1/125th sec, f/2.8, ISO 5000 processed in Capture One.

another shot near banff alberta ( @akash.nu ) ... I like setting up before sunrise and watching how the light / mood changes with time ...

This is my plan for the upcoming trip to Northumberland. I’ve recently bought a small tripod as well. Going to use my iPhone headphones as remote to capture shots without any movement. So excited.!
