This, the backstory to the recent photo of eight swans, from May 2020 when the two parent birds had more cygnets. Two were taken by otters, one reached juvenile stage but unclear what happened to it. iPhone 7.
Another clump of mushrooms along the trail.
A quick jaunt yesterday into Rocky Mountain National Park northwest of where I live in Denver.

Photo from a backyard fire, looks like a dragon. Perhaps 20000 years ago humans thought of the dragon or devil when staring at fire. taken from an iPad gen 5 on Sept7 2020
Even though this is an old 2007 shot from the Canon A550. It shows 2020 hindsight, and seems the perfect last shot for the year. I call it; 'Tapped Out' and yes that really is green shag carpeting behind it.

On another forum someone suggested we take and share a photo representing what 2020 meant to us, what was important to us during this past year..... I thought about it a while and pulled together an image reflecting some of how I will remember 2020:

It was Price Pfister, but I still should have checked to see if they would have given me a free replacement. Anyways both tap and carpeting were 50 years old at the time, so it's not as if mom didn't get her money's worth out of them. That was one of those one or two day jobs that ended up needing more than a week. When I pulled the carpet, some of the subfloor was rotted as well.
Happy New Year to Everyone - This one has a touch of the rude intruder we have all been threatened by. A different pair of parent swans encountered when walking along the canal in June 2020. Taken with iPhone 7.
Stay well - High dose Vitamin D. If I feel something coming on -- I take 50,000 IU per day for three days in a row, 150,000 IU total. Even took 1,000,000 IU over a several week span to test out high dosage -- no issues.
On a daily basis, I take 10-15,000 IU, usually with K2 (mk7)
I really enjoyed this image. It is @Clix Pix through-and-through and shows the intrusion into our lives of the pandemic but your unique cast of characters too with Alfred and Smaug and your very fine equipment. A well told story!
Thanks, r.harris1! I kept thinking about what to shoot and that cast of characters kept coming into my mind, as, yes, they were a very prevalent part of 2020 for me. The camera and the computer, too, were essential components throughout the year..... But how to best represent everything and everybody? Finally it all came together when my eye fell on this little metal sculpture of a GBH I have on my bookcase, and I thought, "ah! there, that's Alfred!!" The computer, my two favorite lenses (90mm macro and 100-400mm), that was easy. Of course I used the camera itself with my 35mm lens to take the shot. The squirrel.....I was going to use that funny photo of greedy, sassy Smaug, but actually this photo is of the little guy I called "Mr Nervous," because of his edgy, anxiety-ridden behavior. While Smaug scared the birdies, poor Mr Nervous was scared of the birdies! One day I happened to capture a shot of him with an anxious, apprehensive expression on his face as he stood on the top rail of the deck. Bingo! That became the image to represent my squirrel friends as well as the anxiety many of us humans have had throughout 2020 as the virus raged on and on..... The masks and Purell hand sanitizer, always at hand now before I leave the house: they, too, quickly became part of the overall image as further symbols of this devastating year we've all experienced.
