Peter, I am really enjoying this owl series you have been posting.

Thanks very much Florian.

I prefer it in landscape (because of the length of the "desk" or whatever it is called) and in black & white (because of the era it represents while making the dude look less fake). but that's just me

Thanks, needfx, it does look good in landscape. I was thinking to balance the detail with the plain desk front but looking at your version, it doesn't need it.
Not certain whether I like colour or black and white best. Thanks for your idea!

no problem

you could also consider cropping it in "medium format". it does look nice as well while gaining some detail below the desk and dividing the frame diagonally at 1/3

I think you nailed it there. Landscape definitely suits it more. I like the B&W version too although the colours were nice in the original (typical Fuji colours ;) )

Mine for today was Bob as it spent most of the day p***ing it down again today and he happened to be sitting next to me whilst I was fiddling with my camera.

I appreciate the comments and your taking the time! Looking at the landscape picture I realise I was trying to get too much in the picture and letting it override the picture itself. Funny, I'm usually of the less is more view! Landscape it is!

There's something about the colours in there that the Fuji brings out really well. I've seen that in some of your pictures MacRy, especially the indoor ones you used to do.

ps. Nice dog!

In the CBD is a wall under a bridge, known as the "free wall." Anyone can come and put up a piece here, legally and not have any aggro about their art being buffed and then covered by someone else's attempts. I was on the way to capture a building a few hundred metres away when I spotted these two fellas at it and they kindly agreed to allow me the opportunity to take a few captures of them. I like the blur from the 1/6 of a second shutter here, keeping them anonymous, as this art-form is mainly seen.

Weather here would have been great for shooting. Nice clouds with sun poking through. Sadly I was at work for all the daylight hours, and its supposed to turn rubbish again for the weekend.

Nice use of the slow shutter speed. Adds a bit more interest.

This owl series has been great. Lots of outstanding shots. Looking forward to seeing what you will do next.

Squirrel

My sister-in-law, who knows that I like photographing anything wildlife related, alerted me to the little guy's presence this morning. I strapped on the 180 2.8 ED Ais, mounted to my D7000, and came away with this image of the squirrel retreating up a nearby tree:

Lovely shot. Really cute.

Mine for today was a quick shot trying out my 24mm Vivitar with a flash.

Thanks --- I find the antics of squirrels so fascinating :)

I love the 24mm focal length, so you will have fun with that lens.
