Got up early recently and explored the grounds of this old place in my neighborhood for the first time (after 20 years). There is a full moon in a few days and I might be able to capture an interesting picture or two if I come back then and it's clear. Yeah right, like I'm going to do that. Like some scene out of a horror movie. :)

But it really might be interesting though. Hmm.

Good Morning Vegas (explored Feb 2017)

Is that Aria? The only hotel I have seen that has a 6 lane driveway up to it!

So from the angle, and the control tower in the distance, then puts you in a westerly facing room in the Cosmopolitan? How was it? I was in the MGM in November. Usual huge Vegas location but a bit tired and was weird to be somewhere where a smoking ban isn't in place.

Did you enjoy yourself? The pictures are fabulous.

I like it a lot and since you asked for comments, I've got a wee suggestion. The sky is bang on although I would lift the shadows on the buildings to bring out a bit more detail. This might cause that area to go a bit flat though, so maybe a bit of contrast on the same area of buildings to keep the same punch.

Thanks Ken - enjoy myself? I was there to work....Spot-on with the Cosmopolitan/Aria - nice hotel with the usual Vegas excesses. As you say, strange to have smoking in the lobbies/casinos.

I definitely appreciate comments - one of the great things about this site. I take your point on the relatively dark buildings - I was probably too focussed on capturing the sky. I'll have a play in post and see what I can do there. Should be relatively easy to mask the required bits - I'll perhaps repost later but I've got a lot of (what I think) are interesting shots to post.

I hope you don't mind but I had a 5 minute play. My work monitor made your image appear darker than it actually is (it's not calibrated) so I just did a wee quick edit of what I was meaning. I was going off a screen grab and my masks are pretty rough but I really hope you don't mind.
