A landscape (seascape) from last summer in Wales, proving that it doesn't ALWAYS rain Wales.

It was beautiful day and really warm, so i thought i would post this to counter this horrible cold weather we are getting here in the UK at the moment. Roll on the summer.
Comments welcome.

I like the black and white better, too. But as you said there's no right or wrong composition or technique, just what works for the individual. I agree with that. That’s what great about photography- we can be as creative as we want- and- maybe learn a thing or two either by taking a photo or processing.

While on the topic of black and white photography, how do you people get the images in black and white? Do you use film, shoot in black and white, or process the image in black and white? If you process in black and white what apps do you like? For me, I shoot in RAW, then process it in black and white. Once in a while I will shoot in black and white just to see what my subject looks like. I use CO Pro 10, which uses RNI films. I also have the RNI films app on my phone.

I shoot raw and then convert to B&W. I used to just do it manually in Lightroom but I recently downloaded the Nik tools and use Silver FX Pro as its pretty good.

Occasionally I’ll shoot in B&W JPEG’s on the M9 as they are pretty good SOOC.

A fruit and veg. stall in the Central Markets, Adelaide, South Australia. This one has been here forever that I can recall, run by the same fellow. It's been interesting to watch his Asian wife of about 10 years slowly make her mark on it! He still stands out front and spruiks loudly with a thick Aussie accent. There aren't many of the old stall-holders left doing that any more, which is quite sad really.

And i guess your wife is Sheila, you drink Fosters and have a hat with corks? Nah, didn't think so. I hate stereotypes. Is it really so surprising that in the 21st century a person doesn't drink - shock, horror!! I am not sure though if you drink for your mother in laws birthday because you are celebrating or commiserating? Drowning your sorrows?
Not sure if mother in law jokes are common in Oz like they are in the UK?
I've only attempted to drink Fosters once in my life, back in 1988 at the F1 Grand Prix, when it was here. Bloody awful stuff, even back then!

I do enjoy a glass of sparkling Shiraz twice a year, not the sickly sweet stuff, the proper basket press stuff, that tastes like Shiraz, just cold and with bubbles! It's definitely a celebratory thing! I actually get along really well with the Mother-in-law!

Yeah, we too have the M.I.L. jokes. I guess it's possibly from our British heritage, or just our laconic sense of humour.

I'm going to try out the Silver Efex Pro. I shoot in RAW and then convert in CO Pro. Thank for the reply, MacRy.

Can I see it in selective colour? :D

Only joking! I think the other vantage point was better.
Different part of the L system - another parking garage about 10-minute walk from the last one. I'd agree with you about preferring the first location; this one had a lot of potential but not easy to get into a decent position without risking life and limb!

I love this organic fruit and veg. stall at the Central markets, they have all sorts of things (eye candy) dotted throughout. It's a photographers dream! This old weigh-scale doesn't get used by staff any more, but the customers can use it to see about how much they have of anything. We'll be going there for one of our Mindful Photography group excursions. I've already asked if the stall-owner would mind a bunch of us coming through and he was cool with the idea.

On the way to catch up with my friends I stopped off at Newark Park. I immediately realised I had brought the wrong gear. There were photographers everywhere with macro set ups. I just had my 24-70mm with me as I was packing light.

Comments always welcome.

A field of snowdrops is so much better than just one. :)

Have you ever been left out of a group gathering???

As I have mentioned, I'm still very new at photography... for the short time I've been doing this, I feel more comfortable at fashion/lifestyle portrait shoots. I've never done a flowers shot before... at least with a DSLR. I was walking this morning, and saw this flower... with one little lonely wallflower hanging on the bottom.

BTW... I'll be posting a pretty cool animated post edit picture from a shoot for Valentines day sometime this week. Just waiting till it gets published first. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
