Great shot. I'm curious, did you remove the cars or did you just wait until there were none and then take the shot?

I waited a while and fortunately the traffic was very light that morning. I removed only one car off in the distance that I did not realize was there when I took the shot. I thought it had already cleared out.

[doublepost=1550677976][/doublepost]I woke early for a sunrise shot at the Grand Canyon's South Rim to a snow storm and heavy clouds. About an hour after the time listed for sunrise the storm cleared and the sun peaked out between clouds bathing parts of the canyon floor and walls, so I grabbed this shot.

I came across another Lego builder on page 1 of the thread while I was getting my picture. Anyway, spent the weekend with my son and we built this Lego Technic Porsche. 1,600 pieces does and doesn't sound like a ton of pieces until you are 3-4 hours in and you still haven't put half of it together yet :D

When I was in Colorado a few weeks ago, on my way to Rocky Mountain National Park, I made an impromptu stop at Red Rocks. I just happened to get there at sunrise where I captured this image. I'd love to catch a show there one of these days (when it's a little warmer though).

Doesn’t that have a working PDK transmission in it? Those technic kits have always fascinated me, but the prices are pretty daunting.

Kallisti.... Suggestions to consider...... Y'know what I'm thinking would make the image even more interesting and striking? Put a bright blue or green or yellow or some other color cloth over the stool, something which offers a vivid contrast to the orange -- just as it's important to have contrast in B&W it's also important when shooting in color. To me, the blah brown top of the stool adds no interest to the current image and actually almost detracts from the orange. A bright blue cloth or bright yellow cloth along with that orange would make the whole image much more dynamic and eye-catching. Or drape a black cloth over the stool and stick the orange on a brightly colored plate or in a bowl for that punch of color and contrast. And, yes, you would still learn from your experiments with lighting, too. Shadow on the orange and on the stool top looks good, I like that.

Thanks! Good suggestions. Much appreciated (I'm always open to comments/critique on pics I post) :)

I bought some flowers last weekend for more experiments with lighting. Shot this tonight.
