I'm mad that you didn't have a DSLR with you.. That has potential to be quite an amazing photograph, especially if someone could PS those few people out of it.

The people kinda make the shot, you know?

Without those people, I'd flip right past that image if I saw it in a book. As it is, it would stop me in my tracks and cause me to closely look at it.

I've always found it interesting that this thread is heavily landscape and nature oriented. Not too many people shots.

I'm back!

Haven't posted in this thread in months so here goes. My camera won't be here till end of this month (Canon 7D) so I've been mooching off my friends and school equipment. I started doing some video stuff with this central theme of child memories or events. That turned into places and things you loved as a child. I made this video which was also for class project and I've taken several images that I will be sharing with you guys. This is the first of them.

C&C is always welcome. Cheers.

Wherever I hang my hat...

I met a guy a few weeks ago who, having lost his job, was walking the length of Britain (Lands End to John O’Groats, that’s 850 to 1,200 miles, depending on the route). I met him when he was about halfway, sitting by his tent, cooking his supper. Nearby, asleep, was his dog. Now there must have been a day, a month earlier, when the guy whistled his dog and said “Walkies”. But instead of a quick stroll around the park, and back home to doze by the fire, man and dog had been walking ever since. The guy knew what he was doing, but I’m not sure what the dog was thinking, if anything at all. Maybe just “Let me sleep”. I bet he would have appreciated some rubber ‘walking boots' like these...

I'm going to guess it's because most "people shots" involve subjects with whom the photographer is acquainted, so these photos are kept off of the internet in the interest of privacy.

So true. I takes lots of pictures of our children. Some are even worth posting in this thread. However I don't want to post their (or other people's ) image on the web. Privacy reasons, or loss of control over the image.

This was the last photo I took out of my smoke photography session. The last one turned out the best! Played around with it in Photoshop CS2.
