Thanks for the feedback! I did try less sky and more water but I found it shimmied the tree too far up in the frame, making the picture (imho) look unbalanced. I found the waterfall and tree on 1/3 and 2/3 up to work about as well as I could get it to. It's a shame the sky was so dull that day to be honest.

I don't know. For me, the dullness of the sky is a part of the atmosphere of the shot. I spent many a weekend with my dad going walking in Kielder growing up and this reminds me of that. Good memories from a good picture.

Keswick, with its moot hall...

Beautiful. I wonder why it's called red bellied. Saw a beautiful great spotted woodpecker last week. Without a camera though....

I wondered this too. I imagined the first person to classify it didn't know the difference between a head and a belly :)

Took a trip to Stowe House today with Mrs MacRy for her birthday. It was nice to get out with the camera for a change.

Lovely as ever Peter.

C & A, another great bird photo! My friend, Sir Marrack Goulding, an avid birder, would have loved your bird pictures, keep up the good work!

Thanks very much for the kind support.

FYI...I imagine that this guy is called a "Red Bellied" because there is another species of woodpecker with a completely red head (top to bottom with no white on the head at all) that is known as a "Red Headed Woodpecker" - wish I had a shot to put up to show the difference. The "Red Bellied" actually does have a bit of red colouring on his belly that isn't clearly seen.

Very nice MacRy and best wishes to Mrs. MacRy on her birthday. I hope it was an outstanding occasion.

It was at the local botanical gardens' Christmas light display. Essentially it was several lengths of RGB LED rope light that were coming out of a fountain. Very cool to see in action.

I thought it was a set of thin bangles against some Christmas lights!! Love this fire photo, it really brings out the vision of heat.

Happy birthday Mrs MacRy! Lovely photo. I like frame-within-a-frame photos,

Shot this in a marketplace in Cambodia. I like the fact that it looks like a model catwalk despite it being a busy, sweaty market. :)

The X100T has awesome low light capabilities. It was basically pitch black in the little cave I took this in with just a little bit of light coming down from an opening above the statue.
