And A Happy New Year from me too.
Here's a photo taken some while back. Albi in S.W. France (my wife's home town). Now a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, my view shows the gigantic red brick Gothic cathedral of Saint Cecile, built between the 13th & 15th century. And in the foreground the Palais de la Berbie - formerly the Bishops palace, now a museum housing the works of the famous French painter Toulouse-Lautrec.
Seeing many of the superb photos on this forum, has motivated me to go out and get some higher definition pictures to eventually share with you all. Watch this space!

Incredible stonework. Lovely lighting. Nice job. I was born in Worcester while my dad was stationed there with Royal Signals
Thanks. I don't often push my ISO anywhere near as I can. I should get out to places like this more when it's crapy weather (as I'm really a fair weathered photographer).
I'm only about 45 minutes from Worcester. But there are plenty of other nice places within easy reach. I just have to find them!

So not a native Scotsman then?

Lol busted... Nope. My mum was Scottish, my wife is Scottish but I am English. Born in Worcester, raised in Newcastle and kept on heading North for the tropical weather... Lol... You can imagine the comments I got during the lead up to the referendum!

I agree I am averse to cranking up the iso too which is silly really as we have rigs that can deliver. I think you should get a smaller more portable setup and carry it more often, I enjoy seeing your pictures you create and would like to see more. So anything that gives you morw opportunity is a yes from me!

I can! Do you ever get further up north? Just saw a piece on Countryfile about shooting red squirrels and red deer in Scotland.
Looks tempting for a few days to try out my new 200-500mm.
