Ha ha ha... yeah whatever you say...

It is like Love... it's not how long you have been in love that counts, it's how hard you fall in love... and you my friend are besotted with cameras the same as we are...

Do your cameras have a proper place where you keep them? rather than wherever you last put them down ? if so then you are a camera nerd. Do you choose from a selection of cameras depending on your predicted needs when you leave the house? .. oops... camera nerd! are your batteries charged and ready to go more often than your phone? - yep... nerdus-camerus:)

But I only have one camera...

Two......

Three

There is a shelf where they sit, all ready in their bags with the preferred lenses, flashguns, filters etc., plus 2 spare charged batteries for each, but I think I'm a lens whore rather than a camera nerd :p :p

Cheers :)

Hugh

Isn't a lens whore a sub-species of camera nerd? Like Labradors are dogs?

It's been quite a while since I last visited this forum. Lots of talented photographers here! We're not even halfway through January and look at all the great shots in this thread :)

Well come on in and post one of yours. Don't be shy. We won't bite.

Haha..thanks! The last couple times I tried uploading images to MR I couldn't even get 1-2MB files through (IMG linking was an issue for me as well). Perhaps I've fallen out of the "Demi-gods" good graces..but I think I'm going to venture out into the cold with my camera today and will try again soon.

Thanks for the guide. I'll certainly try this in a wet weather day.
For insects I use a macro flash set up (R1C1). Sort of thing they use on NCIS if you watch it.
Am I the only camera nerd that tries to spot the gear being used in TV shows and films?

But usually incorrectly used...

True.

Usually? You are being polite... CSI was my favourite... Canon with a ring flash on a telephoto lens, then when they showed the pictures later... Obviously side lit... Lol...
The other game I play is when they have the name of the camera covered in black tape and trying to guess the make and model!

Kind of a spur of the moment picture. My son made me a ceramic bowl for rice or shaving. I'm using it for shaving and it's great. Big and heavy for whipping up a nice lather. So I took a quick snap to text to him. I gotta work on my placement and background. Hey, you shave in the loo.:)

Got out again today. I'm not sure I have the photoshop skills, but I think it might look better if I was able to clone out the power pole and lines.
Abandoned House by mrkramer, on Flickr

Use the path tool with the Bezier curve function to get the line covered exactly because they almost always bend or droop despite looking straight. Then select the healing brush with a small, soft edge and stroke the path. Keeps it neat and tidy.

Lmao! I KNEW you couldn't resist!!!

OK everyone, new challenge... Pictures with the hardest poles and wires for Oblomow to remove... Bring your A-game... Anyone live near a building with an intricate mosaic pattern obscured by modern urban arteries, post them here... :)

Seriously though, nice job...

@Mark0, explain that bezier technique again to me? Sounds great.
