I laid flat on the ice for over an hour waiting for this guy to pop-up out of a hole I had in my sights. Laying on the ice wasn't a problem until I realized that it was melting under me and I ended up laying in a puddle of water as the ice melted under me. But, never say whoa in a mud hole or puddle of water...just grit your teeth and wait it out.

That's some dedication right there. But then again, you got the shot. I salute you sir. :)

Next time take a plastic sheet with you.

Wow! someone has too much free time on their hands!

Isn't that the point of being on a beach? :) I'll confess that I did not make that sandcastle. It was already there when I went to take sunset photos on the beach.

I got up close with my wide angle so it looks bigger than it really was. It was probably no more than a couple of feet tall.

In that case well done making it look bigger than it really was. The use of perspective has really made it look like it is quite large.

Thanks inkmich. I'll tell you though that the Mrs calls it something that alternates between "crazy" and "nuts" depending on her mood. Sometimes it's a combination of both with colourful descriptors. :)

Next time take a plastic sheet with you.

Thanks, I'll remember that JamesMike. But, if it gets much warmer here it may have to be a small boat. I hate rainy winters...bring on the cold and the snow!

Ok so I like this shot but I am noticing you are cutting out doorways and cropping your pictures high. Maybe take a step back and try to get the camera as close to parallel with the ground to reduce the converging verticals effect but capturing the whole frontage.

Nice colours and repeating pattern but I bet that building had an ornate door did it?

As usual feel free to ignore this... Just my opinion

I seem to recall this building having an incredibly ugly storefront, hence this.

This building had such a beautiful natural "patina" that I couldn't pass it by ... there was no need for after market effects

Amazing stuff here.

I've been in a funk lately...Not really wanting to shoot.

But you guys are inspiring me to go out and explore.

Don't have to get out if/when the weather isn't up to much - I tried getting extension tubes as an inexpensive way of giving macro a go for a change - I'll probably bore everyone with them shortly but I'm having fun exploring a new dimension. Might even try people photos some time.:)
