I realized the other day that I still hadn't bought a remote controller cable for my A7R IV and that this really would be a necessary accessory when doing Bubble Planet photography. (Yes, I probably should be using the tripod much more than I've done so far!) One is on the way to me and I am hoping that in the next few days I'll finally be ready to start experimenting with all of this.....

Here in Colorado, and in particular Denver, Canada Geese are sometimes culled and given to families for food. I'm not even kidding! They're very messy in parks and they are, in fact, rather prolific and successful breeders. They certainly annoy people like my beloved (and fantastic! :D) starlings, but in the skies over winter, there are often massive flocks that are moving through that are a sight to behold. Here are some on a local frozen lake.

Gosh, looks just like the scene outside my windows a couple of days last week when our little lake was partly frozen! These guys look really cold, though, more of them sitting down than the ones here were. Ours were standing around or trying to delicately walk on the ice without falling through. At one point we must've had at least 150 of the things -- they were all over the place!

The lake quickly thawed and is back to normal now. Yesterday, nary a goose or merganser to be seen. I kind of missed them. Today, both groups are happily swimming around again out there again!

Cheers. Just learning this flash stuff. Don’t usually need it for landscapes but I’ve set a challenge of broadening what I do. Not stretched as far as people yet though ....

You've given me the "get-up-and-go" I've needed to begin looking at still life photography, which I've always wanted to do, and at the same time, continuing to learn more with flashes. Landscapes and wildlife, which is what I mostly do, don't require it (for the most part) but gotta keep learning new things!

You've done some lovely stuff indeed!
