The X pattern in the ice. Amazing structure features.Back out on the lake yesterday. Foreground is shaded by the mountain behind me causing the localized cyan shift. A common winter phenomenon once you get a bit above sea level.
Fuji XP90 camera. Sometimes shock proof trumps format size.

I tried making a print mat with a straight-edge and hand held mat cutter - it ain't easy.View attachment 1950128
I made this photograph at Ocean Beach, in San Francisco. I cut mats and frame my own prints. And make my own frames from various hardwoods for color prints (or, from lengths of black gallery stock I cut/glue/clamp for B&W prints). I made this particular frame from Maple and Cherry woods. I still need to purchase glass from a store, though.
This is a beautiful scene -- like a picture postcard! Did you use a drone to shoot it?
Yeah, that's pretty tough keeping the cut straight and at a consistent bevel angle. I tired it once and then went with a cutter platform that keeps the cutter head on a guide bar, between two settable stops. Still takes some concentration to not mess it up, though.I tried making a print mat with a straight-edge and hand held mat cutter - it ain't easy.
