Might as well admit how sloppy my record keeping could be. No idea where this shot might have been taken, probably somewhere in the San Juan Mountains? A lesser possibility would be the Black Canyon?

EDIT: @rjjacobson has confirmed this is Box Canyon, not too far south of Ouray along 550.

V-II 4x5 film. The pentagonal lens flare indicates I was using the 121mm Schneider Super Angulon lens and probably facing east. ~1980

Yeah I'm thinking somewhere right along 550, and it was with several other negs that were definitely from the San Juans. Maybe fairly close to Ouray as it ws still early morning lighting.

Had I hiked in I'd probably recall it better.

I took photo had google search since no Exif info. Found it this is Box Canyon near Ouray. Found a ton of images from about same location must be favorite area.

Yeah see my reply on photo found it. It is Box Canyon near Ouray there are tons of similar shots that google found in photo search without any Exif data.

This Jackass penguin in South Africa knew how to charm me pleasantly (Simon's Town, Western Cape).
