This little critter was on the deck last night. Gross. About 4" long.

Some more of the Irish 40 shades of green zagato27 ... :) ... This is Mount Stewart in County Down.

Padre: Could we get more pictures of the estate/school/seminary??

Especially some of the other shades of green. (Wife and I are planning an Irish getaway before the end of summer ... be seeing you?)

I must say, some of your pictures really make me want to get out and shoot.
I have a Nikon D80 and it gives me amazing pictures. But I would like to know how to color correct and mess around with the color to make it look better. I really like the color in the Brooklyn bridge photo and the picture of the bimmer

Dammit Martin C, how did you get so good!!!! Your flickr is incredible by the way. If you have any photography tips for this lowly peon, I'd love to have them :D You're the best photographer on this forum!

Now that's some GREEN. Gorgeous. I haven't been to Utah but it's on my list. The colors, water and foliage remind me of Alaska and Maine. It also makes me think cool temperatures, something we won't be getting here in Savannah til late fall:( Thank you all for your "green" shots. I feel better already.:D Cheers

It was nice and cool up the canyon, down where I live it's been hitting a dry 100, but by the time I got to this point up the canyon I was working in a cool 65-70.

The road this is by (Alpine Loop) is gorgeous year round... green in the summer, and so many colors in the fall. In the winter months they don't plow the road so it's snowmobile or snowshoes.

Hi FastEddy,
Mount Stewart is one of the buildings owned and run by the National Trust. It's not to far from where I live. The house and grounds are beautiful and well worth a visit. There are 8 or 9 National Trust properties in Northern Ireland including the world famous Giants Causeway and the near-by Carrick-a-Reed rope-bridge. I have quite a few photos so I try to post one every day. If you need any further info please PM me.

FJ :)

One handheld RAW // HDR // Shutter: 1/500 // Aperture: f/10 // Focal Length: 260 mm // ISO 200

^ For this shot, I climbed on top of a brick wall and stood prostrate several feet off the ground to get this vantage point.

i love this shot! the angle is great (the few times i've tried to shoot the cathedral, i end up with crappy, lame pictures)

Thanks... nice to see another fellow KC'er.

Those narrow streets around the cathedral make it really difficult to get decent shots - ya just can't fit all that much in the viewfinder.

Took this one today in the backyard of some sweet peas. The bokeh is all natural thanks to my 50mm 1.8:p Only manipulation was "enhance" button in iPhoto.

Amazing pic... like the yellow brick road in winter...

Very simple, almost minimalist... but very effective and atmospheric...
Thanks.

The sky in the short hours of daylight of January can be spectacular. When the temperature drops to minus 40, ice fog surrounds everything. That day there was fog all around, except for this area.
